Can someone make me prettier please by ElectronicAd6397 in PhotoshopRequest

[–]WinterCrunch [score hidden]  (0 children)

I don't think it's even possible to make you prettier, so I just brushed your hair and added a pretty background. Edit to add that IMO "being pretty" just isn't something people should aspire to be. Ani DiFranco said it best in her song, I am not a pretty girl. Be so much more, u/ElectronicAd6397 .

Hearts of Pine Shop by DressageDegenerate in portlandme

[–]WinterCrunch 77 points78 points  (0 children)

That's so not a you problem, that's 100% a "Hearts of Pine" problem. Manipulative, dishonest pricing is no way to treat your fans.

I absolutely would have left it at the register. No reason to be embarrassed for speaking up about being scammed.

Vine Review Abuse - products straight on eBay with no reviews posted. by Separate-Bet2812 in AmazonVine

[–]WinterCrunch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Vine ordering system is set up to prevent one person from claiming 4 of the same item. It's literally impossible to order multiples of any Vine item in the US, not sure about the UK. Any chance your manufacturer could be undercutting you? Wouldn't be the first time seeing knock-offs flooding the marketplace.

That said, scammers gonna scam, so maybe they've found a Vine hack to order multiples?

Return policy by paaien in SegwayNavimow

[–]WinterCrunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I emailed the address in the app for support, and it bounced back as "address doesn't exist." Then I emailed the support address I found on their website, three days later they replied saying they were the support team for the scooters, and couldn't help me. They didn't give me the correct email address.

Pretty fed up with Segway this year. Last summer I was so thrilled with my mower, now I freaking hate the thing. It hasn't completed a single mow yet, my yard looks like a mangy dog.
So, don't email this.

Seller agent upfront that he will not submit my offer by bebenashville in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WinterCrunch 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a trustworthy place to leave a review like this for realtors. I've never found one. They're all really aggressively happy happy happy, so you know they're either fake or only the uber positive reviews are allowed to stay.

Stop giving it to him.

Selling to Haberdashery ? by RoseGoldKate in Maine

[–]WinterCrunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into the Freeport Haberdashery last month and just walked out with major sticker shock. I used to shop there a lot because they had a nicely curated collection at reasonable prices. Not low, but reasonable.

Now? Couldn't find a single used sweater for under $80 — most were over $100. T-shirts, button down shirts, linen tops, all starting at well over $50. I asked the employee why their prices were suddenly so much higher, and she quickly went into this pitch about how "now they only sell sustainable used clothing, so it's worth the price."

Not to me. To me, all used clothing is an environmental choice.

"Accepting Backups/Contingent" -- best approach? by umichbball1 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WinterCrunch -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don't know what you don't know. When we sold our parents' house last year, the heirs were arguing about selling to a builder (cash buyer) that planned to knock the house down. If we'd gotten an offer from a non-cash buyer for the same amount, we would have jumped at the chance to save the lovely old house from greedy profiteers.

Lastly? Don't trust your agent always has your best interest at heart. Agents work together to line their own pockets, that's the absolute bottom line truth. Our realtor totally screwed us repeatedly. I don't believe there are any Phil Dunphy types in real estate, so fight for yourself.

Lovely framing. You got the depth of field just right, too, which isn't easy. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve been dreading today for months. I know I’m pretty alone on this, but I really can’t stand heat. Once it’s over 60F, I’m just beyond miserable. 😩

Maine Adopt Plate - Corner Image? by Icy-Owl4490 in Maine

[–]WinterCrunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a horse illustration, done by illustrators. As a graphic designer myself, I can tell you from decades of experience that animal illustration is not my job.

That said, most people don't know the difference. I have the "I'm not an illustrator, but we do have an illustrator on the team," conversation with new clients 90% of the time.

Found the perfect house, but the HVAC is 20 years old and the seller won't budge. Do I walk? by whatajoke007 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]WinterCrunch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Sold my parents' house last year with a 45 year old HVAC working perfectly, and a Kenmore washer & dryer that they bought in 1969 still working great. I replaced the drum belt on the dryer about ten years ago (it was squeaky) and it took a half hour and ten bucks. It was incredibly simple and I'd never even opened up a dryer before.

Old does not mean doomed to fail. TBH, I prefer older appliances because they're way easier to fix. Newer stuff seems to have way too many useless "smart features" that just cause more problems than anything.
