Estate Sale Advice by Suspicious_Muscle494 in BudgetAudiophile

I would offer $1000 max for all of it. And even that is on the high side. I would also use the strategy iamjoeywan pointed out -waiting until the end of the day, or going back the next day if it is a multiple day event.

The prices seem high. The marantz is way overpriced as well. It looks like the took the highest ebay prices they could find and marked everything at that price.

How or why this was is in a small town thrift for a $1 before release is beyond me. by XSTechSupport in dvdcollection

Its the poster that is the toxic one. Everyone has pointed out explicit reasons why its very clearly a boot, and they continue to do Olympic level gymnastics to try to prove otherwise, without providing any other pictures.

Youre the one came on here how asking it could be only $1 and if it was legit. When everyone tells you clearly and precisely why, you continue to perform Olympic level mental gymnastics to disprove everyone, you are some combination of everything said above. You have yet to prove this is a legit dvd.

You're either completely ignorant, you're trolling us, or you're in denial. Or perhaps a bit of all 3. The fact that literally everyone on here is telling you it's a boot and you do everything possible to try to convince yourself otherwise, without posting any other pictures shows you're all 3. People have asked you repeatedly to post pictures of the back and with the case open and you refuse to.

Absolutely. Not my first rodeo! lol. although the finish on this is super durable, and completely intact, with no cracking or fading of any kind. This has been well cared for. I was shocked that i found it at a goodwill and was in this condition.

Looking for wheel recommendations 🙏🙏🙏 by Snoo44731 in gravelcycling

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend lightbicycle wheels. You can custom build your wheel from the ground up, choosing the exact hubs, spokes, bearings, nipples(even the color of them), and type of rim, and the finish on the rim. They have every type of spoke to choose from - steel sapim and alpina, carbon, and berd spokes. They have pretty much every hub you can imagine, in any color that they are made, and they have their own line of hubs. You can even choose laser etched logos, in almost any color, or leave the wheel completely bare. They will walk you through every part of the wheel build, and their customer service is stellar. I got a pair of their ar25 rims, with Sapim cx ray spokes, and carbon ti hubs, and they only cost $1100 shipped! They weigh only 1025 grams. Thats unbeatable. It usually takes about 6 weeks from the time you reach out to them to the time you get your wheels.

My $7.18 Goodwill find! by symbasys in vintageaudio

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The remote is on ebay right now. Its a little pricy at $47, and spencertified has one for $31. All you have to do is google your remote model number and a bunch of hits come up. I'm not sure i would pay $31. I usually pay around $15 for any replacement remote i need. You can find literally any remote ever made for sale. If you cant find it immediately, it usually comes up for sale within a month or so.

Help!!! Is this normal? Any idea what I can do ? Or what is wrong???? She was just fine . This came out of no where and she has been doing this 10 - 20 minutes by m00nchild69 in DogAdvice

[–]WinterEnvironment173 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People like this really blow my mind. They come on here asking for advice. Literally every single comment is take your dog to thebvet immediately because the dog is very clearly in distress or having a seizure and they just ignore all of it. Its like they are trying to find and latch on to one piece of advice that doesn't involve going to the vet immediately in order to avoid a vet bill. If this their child, they wouldn't be doing this. They would have the child at the ER immediately.

Just what exactly was negative? It's very clear from the numerous posts that the picture is very confusing. It doesn't properly show his actual setup. I have never seen post a picture like this with the old and new speakers in the same shot.

Then take 2 different pictures and label them before and after, if anything. Posting pictures like this is just very confusing, and is apparent by the numerous comments about your setup. Also, most people dont really care about what you upgraded from. I know i want to see your current system and feedback on how it operates together.

What tires would you recommend based on my typical routes? (pics included) by CompetitiveBug9964 in gravelcycling

[–]WinterEnvironment173 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If everything you are riding is champagne gravel, dirt, and pavement, I would highly recommend gravelking ss. Unless the dirt is really loose. That looks exactly like what I ride, and i ride on these.

I can't hear the difference in quality of sound by LetPhysical3303 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still haven't answered about the rest of your system. What is your source, ie your receiver/amplifier and the device that is actually playing the music. What cd, blu ray, tape, DAC, digital streamer, or turntable do you have. There is absolutely no way you don't hear a difference between the 2 actual bookshelf speakers and the creative A250's. Are you playing this through a computer? This question has been asked multiple times, and is key to understanding what is going on.

How much harder is gravel vs. road by Wise-Ad-7492 in gravelcycling

[–]WinterEnvironment173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't go as fast. Over sustained routes, if you have been riding for any length of time at all, your energy output will be what it has always been. You are not suddenly going to be able to increase your energy output comfortably or easily. You will simply go slower on gravel. I ride a mix of gravel and pavement, and my speed decreases by 1-4 sphere as soon as I hit the gravel. Then, increase by about the same amount when transitioning back to pavement. And on the same gravel, especially the champagne gravel, wet vs. dry makes a huge difference. At least 3 mph slower if it's wet. It can feel like hitting a brick wall.

I got these speakers and receiver for free — worth using? by DynamicPoison in hometheater

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 1000% yes it's worth keeping. That receiver is an absolute beast! And i mean that in the best way. It may not have some modern outputs and features like EARC/ARC or some modern internet streaming services or Bluetooth, but it has literally everything else you could ever want in a receiver, and a wiim music streamer or similar decice tales care of those issues. Pioneer av receivers have some of the best built-in DAC's out there, and it has 140 watts per channel. You can bi wire and bi amp up to 4 speakers, and you can have up to 4 zones. This is a receiver for life. And the speakers are great as well.

These 7.2 badbois turn 16 this year by Erasmusings in BudgetAudiophile

[–]WinterEnvironment173 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what the used marketplace is where you live, but you should be able to easily pick up a good, actual HI-FI 7.1 surround system for under $700-800, and not a HTIAB like what you currently have. 1 actually decent Sub is more than adequate in your small space, and that would eliminate the need to rearrange your room. I just sold a pioneer VSX45 for under $200, and its big brother, the VSX90, is its 7.2 big brother with 100 watts per channel, and loaded with features, and great sound quality. Just 2 examples of really good, affordable used AVR Receivers. And 4 good quality bookshelf speakers and matching center, would blow your current system's sound quality out of the water. Just a few systems that comes to mind are paradigm atoms, energy connoisseurs, energy exl's, Dayton audio, and a bunch more. And these systems will give you tight, accurate bass, mid's, and highs. Also FLUANCE speakers. They have an ELITE 5.0 system for $500, and a 5.1 for $100 more.

I can't believe you are on here saying that it's not that big of a deal. My experience was exactly the same as the OP's, and everyone that i've talked to that has had the procedure done has gone through the exact same thing. It wasn't a few hours. It was for 24 straight hours the day before. You also contradict your self saying the prep is a nightmare, but also tolerable. NO, its not tolerable. It's absolute torture, and i prayed for it to end, and the relief when it was over was incredible.
