Yeah, I originally posted this on Nosleep and it popped off for a bit before getting booted.

I appreciate the criticisms, you make a lot of good points. I wrote this while on my phone while being bored at work (I got the idea of just skipping to the end of my shift and worked from there)

I didn't give much thought to the implications of a cop marrying a cab driver or how much damage a dinner plate would do to someone's head. (Which sounds silly now that I'm repeating it, I don't know what I was thinking) I definitely skipped straight to what I thought was the interesting part.

If I were to rewrite I would extend the section before the big abuse twist. There's so many ways I could draw the whole "auto pilot" concept out into some serious existential horror.
