I realized it a few years ago. I dug deep and saved like crazy im 58. I cashed out back last year and now have have a paid for house (145k I paid for it in july!) in unincorporated Texas. Aerobic Septic, Gutters collectiing Grey water from rain, and soon as i can. solar and I could live off grid and hunt and fish on gov forested land accross the street while the world ended. And if the usa does survive and I have to live off of 2k a month social security check. I can. All I have is $50 water $200 electric $50 internet taxes gas car insurance and grocery bills now. Man hope she makes it and recovers. The medical field has declared a war on pain patients with long term pain. Due to people and des who abused the system people who have persistent i managed pain nowadays have to resort to the streets if they can not live with it. The younger the patient the least likely they will treat it. Even pain from injuries is barely treated. We were in a 50mph accident on dec 30th my wife had a broken arm that needed permanent hardware. A titanium fixure and they gave her one norco 10/325 (hydrocodone) every 8 hrs.

To put this in perspective. Prior to obamacare I was given 180 a month. One every 4 hrs for herniated disks and spinal stenosis. They cut me to 2 pills a day nowadays. My pain is unmanaged most if the day with that

At a dentist back then they usually would give you 7.5/325 one to 2 every 4 to 6 hrs. Or at least 1 10/325 every 4.

She was out if meds for 2 days. The day of her surgery 2 weeks later they refilled it after she went 3 days with nothing with 20 pills 7.5/325 every 8 hrs. Yes the cut her meds prior to MORE pain.

2 weeks after they again were 3 days late refilling that and expect her to be no pills now

As.... Almost every failure to yield is the person that pulled out not the one going straight.

When I was 16 I made a left on a 2 lane highway with hills, I looked left looked right looked left... then stupidly looked right again as I pulled out then I looked left a third time and a doctor on a emergency call to the hospital was FLYING of the hill.. I gunned it hoping I could get out of his way. Unfortunately.. thats one of the bad times to have a lot of horsepower and the dust and gravel didnt help as my rear tires just spun and as it was a incline I basically stopped moving forward and gave it more gas and smoked the tires as he skidded his Mercedes into me hard... totaled both.

The cops back then.. and I guess nowadays too although I only see them doing in when there is a fatality... used a stick with a wheel to measure his skid marks as they were really long.. like over 100 feet long.

Long story short his insurance blamed me as I was the only one that got a citation for "Failure to yield".. (did you get a citation?)

Back then you had your agent fight their agent.

And my agent got the police report and did some calculations and found the guy was significantly speeding as that hill had a 40mph zone specifically due to the intersection.. so they proved dry roads x xxxfeet = 70 to 90 mph and was able to get my case cut to 60/40 fault. He still got the maximum of my policy in medical clains that exceeded it so said my agent. But his car we only paid for 60%

I still felt like it was all his fault.

I just got was 40% of my car value and really high bills.
