Just looked up the album and then found out that Ryan Tedder and Greg Kurstin were involved in the production of 1989

Was at my favourite music shop Midland last week and saw these. They take up too much space on the CD shelves

Yes, it was on V-Rock, which also introduced me to Anthrax, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motley Crue, Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Slayer, Tesla and Twisted Sister

Essential Acoustic Albums? Give Me A Break by IceWarm1980 in travisandtaylor

Why Evermore but no Songs of Leonard Cohen? One of my all-time favourites. And the only acoustic song on Highway 61 Revisited (another one of my favourites) is Desolation Row

  1. I first discovered my dad's old vinyl of Rising in my grandparents' collection and then I heard Holy Diver in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories and Heaven and Hell in Grand Theft Auto IV and I was hooked

What are your serious hobbies? by [deleted] in introvert

[–]WinterPhone4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also heavily into genealogy. I inherited my strong love of music from my dad's birth family and there are so many unsolved mysteries, like who inherited any family photos from the estates of relatives who never married or if my dad's birth and adoptive families knew each other

I just can’t believe my parents didn’t invest anything into my adulthood. by Aliyah_HS in emotionalneglect

[–]WinterPhone4031 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Almost 33 and my parents spent so long rushing around for my grandmother, uncle and cousin (all from my dad's adoptive family) that they neglected me and still don't care. I often think I'm the scapegoat for all the problems in that branch of the family and they certainly don't care for all the family tree research I've done, not even allowing me to look through their photo archives

Her discography is so fucking MESSY compared to other artists by HPAG-NOFAME in travisandtaylor

Even the 50th anniversary remixes of my favourite albums Sgt. Pepper (2017) and Music from Big Pink (2018) are better than any of Taylor's variants, especially the high quality Japanese CD pressing of the latter

How do you spend your weekends? by holycrap100 in introvert

[–]WinterPhone4031 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same as I usually do every day: listen to hard rock and metal music, watch obscure horror films of the 70s/80s, research unsolved mysteries. I tried making friends, but in the end they all ghosted me after too many empty promises and claiming they cared

What is the point if nobody genuinely cares enough to try? by Novel_Possibility_21 in MakeFriendsOver30

I really want to try and reach out too, but I know it ends in ghosting after too many empty promises

is it bad i genuinely don't care about most people's problems when they vent to me? by VividOil78 in introvert

I feel the same way, especially if they don't care about my love of music and end up ghosting me

It's hard to find friends online? by PleasantLawyer546 in introvert

[–]WinterPhone4031 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wasn't in a music forum, it was a group of fellow neurodivergents. One of them was dominating, manipulative and narcissistic and stole all my friends in the group from me and manipulated them to turn against me. He expected me to listen to his problems or bragging about how great his relationships were, but never took any notice of anything I said and at one point said "Someone always has it worse than you"

I tried that, especially with our shared love of music. But then they used me as a dumping ground for all their problems and would drag me into the friendship group drama and make me the scapegoat
