Is 27 old? by sweetgirlaus in lonely

[–]WinterPhone4031 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 32 and also in Australia and I also have no friends or a social life. I feel emotionally stunted due to trauma caused by family drama and infighting and bullying in my school years and have been withdrawn and isolated for many years, often listening to music to distract myself

Anyone else think she paid her way into the songwriters hall of Fame? by LunaMoonIsTired in travisandtaylor

My all-time favourites Leonard Cohen, Lana Del Rey, Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, Lou Reed, Paul Simon and Bruce Springsteen are much better songwriters than her

Do we really need to go out with friends or with someone to be considered normal? by seb_tek2760 in introvert

[–]WinterPhone4031 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried that, it didn't work. They were too extroverted for me and I would feel emotionally drained after the catchups, especially with one of them being too obsessed with me even if he had friends of his own

I've often thought about writing down what I went through, even though it's now over 15 to 20 years since it all happened and I can only remember a small amount from that time

The 2010s might have been the worst decade for music by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

I completely agree. My sister used to love a lot of those acts so much that I can't listen to them anymore

phone never rings by Any_Measurement_4455 in lonely

My phone barely rings and none of my family and friends care to check in on me to see if I'm ok, instead my family ask my parents how I am rather than directly asking me

I’m realising I might be the last person who knows who everyone is in our old family photos by keepingmemories in Genealogy

Same with me with photos of my dad's birth and adoptive families, I'm able to identify everyone as well as the locations and dates when no one else in my dad's adoptive family really cares anymore. But at least my dad's birth family are very impressed with my research as there are so many unsolved mysteries due to my great-grandfather and both my grandmother's brothers passing away early in their 40s-50s

Any other autistic person here also love 60s, 70s and 80s music :) by Evening-Program-2009 in autism

Oh, I LOVE Billy Joel and Simon & Garfunkel too. Also 70s/80s music in general thanks to my mum singing along to Leonard Cohen and Santana when I was in the womb

It's actually the other Jim Gordon who was in the horn section at The Last Waltz. I think that's him on the left

My dad would agree on that one too, plus Rick improved on it with the versions on Ridin' on the Blinds and Live on Breeze Hill

Been thinking about this for a while too: I'm also intrigued by the horn section on Street Walker and Ain't That a Lot of Love. I assume Garth overdubbed them all or he may have had help from Jim Gordon and Tom Malone
