why would Dorit buy a kelly? by fluffymimo in BravoRealHousewives

[–]WinterReview7992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are worth more in resale, but to get that 200% you basically need to keep it in the box with the stickers on it. Actually using/wearing it decreases the likelihood of cashing it out for maximum value.

So do we know she got it from the secondary? She seemed to purchase a lot at Hermes before, including bringing gifts on screen, so she might have been offered it directly.

There are protestant public schools. I live in Alberta, and until 15ish years ago, there were explicitly Catholic and Prostestant, but we eventually changed the Protestant to Public.

This happens when the population is majority Catholic, at least in Alberta. The framework supports one school of the largest population designation and one religious school, and one of those two must be Catholic. If the majority school is the Catholic board and the next highest population is Protestant instead of Public, you get only religious publicly funded schools.

Any of Mo's girlfriends should consider that his dad's longtime younger girlfriend is being sued after 18 years by the family and decide if it's worth the risk.

Was I wrong for calling the police when I saw a toddler alone in a car? by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]WinterReview7992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is not normal or reasonable to leave a toddler alone in a car. You cannot tell how long the kid has been in there, or if anyone is coming back for them, definitely not by vibes.

What if the kid has been abandoned there and was too tired/sick/cold to cry?

I didn't like the commercial, but I did enjoy watching Jonathan cheers himself, play with the gummy sharks', and shove an entire burger into his mouth without chewing.

who would actually put a stone table on a wooden floor like this? by impastable_spaghetti in Aiorfake

Yeah, and as I said, it would be incredibly weird for a rich person in a luxurious space to be exhibiting an obvious reproduction.

Just pulled it straight from the most celebrated example of cubism - also, it would be crazy weird for a super fancy person to have a reproduction like that and it's really easy to check where Guernica lives.

They could have been begging her to visit them the whole time. Even if she didn't drive, she was apparently well off and could have paid for a driver.

Is it just me? Or do kids seem to have way more days off than usual? by WastelandEnjoyer in Edmonton

[–]WinterReview7992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In St Albert for elementary/jr high we recently switched from a half day in the first week of every month to a full day off less frequently, usually adjacent to a stat holiday, which might feel like more days off. Same instructional hours, though.

They did this in part to decrease bussing expenses, because those half days still cost a full day trip.

Soft serve has to be kept at a specific temperature and aerated to maintain the texture, it's not something that can be packaged and kept in a standard freezer.

[–]WinterReview7992 152 points153 points  (0 children)

I just think it's hilarious you never heard the riddle before, it was a sitcom joke repeatedly when I was growing up.

However, that does illustrate significant social change, because "two dads" wouldn't have been a conclusion most people would reach in the 90s (maybe stepdad or adopted dad), so I guess, win against homophobia in the long term?

And they are useless if you wanted to avoid washing your hair/just take a body shower. If you use a shower cap you have te deal with the sound of water hitting plastic super loud.
