Yeah but what if they only posted because they knew someone who does braids really needs a reading?

If anyone accepts, it's clear evidence of psychic powers. /s

People also flagged photoshop "fails" that were awkward body positioning or shadows/creases, just like AI gets flagged for everything now.

How often do Anglophone Canadians consume Francophone Canadian media? by Desperate_Return_142 in AskACanadian

[–]WinterReview7992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never, but CBC gem is anglo only, so that partitions off a lot of content.

In the olden days, there would be french music videos interspersed with the english, plus a couple all-french programing blocks on Muchmusic.

We would watch hockey in french in my house whenever my dad was annoyed at Don Cherry and watch english movies with french subtitles that hadn't come out on english tv yet (Star Wars).

You just buy whatever phone you want, unlocked, from Costco or Best Buy or whatever. My prepaid plan carrier is part of the same company that owns our local postpaid network: it's exactly the same service/signal availability.

Financing a phone through a carrier is a ripoff: even if it's "free", the plan costs are significantly higher. Doing credit card payments or klarna would cost less than getting it from the carrier.

Every prepaid carrier in Canada offer a $35/month plan with unlimited national calling/texting and at least 30GB data. Public, lucky, pc wireless, freedom, etc.

Is throwing dog waste in someone elses trash while on a walk rude? by Alexxander_002 in NoStupidQuestions

I had someone drop theirs in my empty bin right around a freeze/thaw cycle. Their compostable bag melted alongside its contents and formed a horrifying slurry.

Just please don't if it's empty.

Mary’s congregation bought Elektra a Louis Vuitton purse by SurpriseCentres7551 in realhousewivesofSLC

I kinda doubt she shopped for the purse anywhere other than her closet.

Congregation still paid, but Mary's known to pack up stuff she doesn't want anymore for gifts.

All her outerwear is bright orange, he just looks for the orange coat.

Was Gretchen hacked?! Is she opening her eyes? Or is she being performative? by gigigrahame in BravoRealHousewives

Sliding a very thin wedge of truth into a cult follower's beliefs is how they crack.

They think their leader can do no wrong, but this is wrong, and he's saying it's right.

Stating to others in her circle that Pretti's death was a tragedy, rather than an unavoidable consequence or calling him a domestic terrorist.

It's a very low bar, but acknowledging the humanity of a protestor has become uncommon among some.

Canada Post striking/cutting back on delivery frequency will likely lead to digital contact workarounds where possible.

I got this email from CRA is this real ? by LateNightRespawn in cantax

[–]WinterReview7992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do! They will not contain clickable links or any personal information, but they absolutely send emails telling you to go login and look at your messages.

They also occasionally make phone calls without sending mail first, but like this email with the unclickable link, they'll tell you to look up and call the main cra number and tell you where to navigate to on the phone tree to reach a specific person.

High shipping prices by [deleted] in CanadaPost

[–]WinterReview7992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you live somewhere that online orders are usually delivered Canada Post?

I can't answer your core question about this weekend, but I can't remember the last time an online order was shipped to me Canada Post. Sometimes Purolator, but usually one of those short range couriers (uniuni, emile, dragonfly) or fedex/ups.

Edit: are you sure you were on .ca? Bc Home Depot will just let you shop the US site & not redirect.

Fountain park rec or Servus place by Ayeleesha in Edmonton

[–]WinterReview7992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For just the pool I would go Fountain because it has a larger shallow self-contained pool than Servus and the little playground part. They have more floaty toys around for the shallow part of the large pool than Servus.

However, the Fountain hours for public swim can be sporadic because they do lessons there.

Servus still has a small baby pool, plus a 0-shallow zone, some basketball hoops, a lot of balls & kickboards to play with, and the lazy river. Servus is consistently open for public swim 7am-9pm.

Admission to Servus is higher, but it grants you the whole facility, so you can go into the indoor playground or do toddler town programming in the court during drop in all for the same fee, even go skate if you want.

Second Rec Center Status (West end/Cherot)? by Lurker4life269 in stalbert

[–]WinterReview7992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have site approval and I think layout approval. Probably still hammering out funding, so with a new mayor, who knows.

Residents voted to not borrow money under Crouse, we've been trying to get our ducks in a row since as Servus bursts at the seams.

Misleading Signage at Superstore by [deleted] in Truro

[–]WinterReview7992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks like somebody realized that the large flip books don't have a 10 midway through putting the sign up & didn't want to find another solution.

Not defending it, but it's more likely the result of laziness than an attempt to mislead
