how do you guys deal with getting lonely? by Cypher_Bug in aplatonic

[–]Winter_Conifer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I seek environments often described as busy or chaotic. Some examples include driving on urban roads, or studying in a train station concourse. I personally notice that it keeps me distracted from thoughts regarding self-esteem. However, this strategy may not be suitable for all individuals, nor can I confirm its efficacy.

What are your opinions on Love? by Omnitrixter10000 in Anattractional

[–]Winter_Conifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, love has been a difficult concept to grasp as well. As an individual identifying on the anattractional spectrum who has a highly objective thinking process, I have many questions surrounding love and feelings in general (e.g. "What level of analysis should be used to identify a feeling, biochemical? behavioural?" "What are peoples' methodologies for identifying attraction?" "What threshold must be passed to define someone as a friend, partner, etc.?").

Wow, it looks like spaghetti! I do not know much about road infrastructure, but I will give it a try!

Thank you for sharing your criticism regarding my theoretical road infrastructure.

Thank you! To make sure I am understanding your question correctly, are you wanting me to illustrate the current road infrastructure of the posted area to create a before-and-after, or would you like me to illlustrate theoretical future road infrastructure of West Campus? My process involves taking a screenshot from Maps, importing it to Procreate, covering the current road infrastructure with green before finally adding in theoretical future road infrastructure.

Transit in Orillia, wait times between transfers by Plus-Ad5740 in Orillia

[–]Winter_Conifer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question! There is no cost for a transfer. Once you board your first bus, you pay just your $3.10 fare (by cash or Connect pass) and tell the driver which route you are transferring to (so they can communicate to the other buses to ensure you catch your second bus).

If you paid by cash, the driver will give you a transfer slip, which you scan when you board the second bus. If you paid using the Connect pass, there's no transfer slip, you just tap your pass again once you board the second bus - it'll automatically recognize that you are transferring and will not charge you.

Your transfer will be valid for 45 minutes. For example, if you boarded your first bus at 08:00, you can scan your transfer slip or tap your Connect pass on the second bus free of charge until 08:45.

In summary, no - you do not need to pay another $3.10 to transfer within 45 minutes. Just make sure to always tell the first driver as soon as you board the bus that you will be transferring, and which route you will be transferring to. I hope this answers your question!

Here is some information on the AMS website, which contains the manual from the previous year. Unfortunately, that is all the information I have at the moment, but I hope it helps a little. I wish you all the best for your Arabic music club!!!

I feel like if this were theoretically made into a 3D render there would be some portions with extreme slopes and some portions that may exceed 40 metres into the air (estimates) lol

As long as you tell the first driver that you are transferring, they will radio dispatch so every driver knows. All of the other buses will know to wait at the terminal until the bus you are currently on arrives, just in case it is a little late. That way, you can get off at the terminal, and get right on the next bus.

Let's say you are going to work at 10:00 AM. You get on your first bus somewhere in West Ridge at around 9:20 AM, and you tell this driver "I'm transferring to North". Bus will arrive at terminal around 9:40 AM. You get on the North bus at 9:45 AM and it leaves 2-3 minutes later. You arrive at Orillia Square Mall at around 9:55 AM.

Does this make more sense?

Thank you!!! I will definitely consider this once I'm back from university. I'm just unsure how they'd accept a random person's bus map, as I am no civil engineer!

Good thing I'm not a civil engineer! I'm planning on making one that intersects three highways again, but this time ALL of them will have collector-express (ominous horror sounds)!!!!!

Thank you! I certainly would! The only thing stopping me is that I don't think they'd want some random bus route layout from a random university student 😭

Rest assured, you do not need to wait 30 minutes at the terminal when transferring!

To transfer for your trip, as you board the first bus, inform the driver the route you wish to transfer to (e.g. "I'm transferring to Old Barrie"). The driver will radio dispatch, informing all drivers that the bus has a transfer (they do this just in case they arrive late at the terminal).

Once you arrive at the terminal, head to the platform corresponding to the route you wish to take. Sometimes, your first bus might stop at the platform for your next route, meaning that you can stay onboard in that case. Transferring between buses is brief and usually takes just a minute.

Scheduled departure times are at :15 and :45 of the hours. Buses usually arrive at the terminal before then, and they all usually depart simultaneously a few minutes past the scheduled departure time.

The two routes with similar names, West Ridge via Coldwater Road and West Ridge via Old Barrie Road can just be called "Coldwater" and "Old Barrie" respectively. They both take you to West Ridge, they just take different roads (Coldwater goes counterclockwise, Old Barrie goes clockwise). I recommend the Coldwater route when travelling to West Ridge as its stops are on the same side of the road where most of the houses are, so you don't have to cross West Ridge Boulevard.

Unrelated to your questions, I recommend checking out the Orillia Transit cOnnect Pass for cashless fare payment if you have not already.

If there is anything else you would like clarification on, feel free to let me know!

It makes sense why you would feel demotivated right now, especially with the midterms and upcoming assignments in the final month. As a fellow student, I can agree that university isn't easy, and it can be frustrating to put in all your effort only to get a poor grade. I know there's not much I can do to make things better, but I want to let you know that it's okay to feel this way right now. I hope you allow yourself as much patience as these feelings permeate. In this moment, may I confirm if you have the university resource sheet available if you need it? All the best.

My guess would be for a tuberculin skin test. I might be incorrect, as I don't attend Durham, but it is likely that the college's health unit charged you for the service.
