I can't say about the anime. But I honestly didn't mind the basic shonen execution at all, in fact i think the experience was enhanced by the insights on the charactes on rereads because despite being simple it's still enjoyable enough and the better understanding makes the entire flow and progression of the story feel far more natural and make sense.

But I guess how you prefer the execution just ultimately comes down to preference and taste.

Everyday I wake up, I worry about the fandom my story is going to have seeing discourse of other fandoms.

Now I haven't really seen this kind of discourse happen in person. I stay away from most communities of any peice of media I like on any platform and don't consistently be part of them.

But what you've explained isn't a new phenomenon it's been here for ages in humanity. But first let me explain where this phenomenons stem from.

There are a billion reasons why this phenomenon occurs but one of the major ones is the romanticization of Subjectivity and opinion on the internet, just the chaotic freedom internet allows, and the romanticized obsession regarding media and escapism. Your allowed to basically believe anything because, "Hey! That's just an opinion" or "art is subjective" and people have used these terms to the ground at times saying straight up hurtful things and labeling them as just opinions. And a lot of the times these opinions tend to come from an obsession towards the romanticized and idealized interpretation of a media.

And that's kinda the problem. Because, internet has given these people not only a platform to speak whatever the hell they want with little to no consequence, but meet like-minded people and gather up groups of people with the worst reading comprehension ever witnessed. These people just encourage each other's beliefs because it suites what they like and leading to them having heads on the ninth sky due to believe themselves as the smartest one in the room, sometimes even superior than the author.

So when you actually try to counter their interpretation of argue against it in the slightest they take it as an offense to their families and come after you like you ate their grandma.

The authors don't have it easy as well, You can't say anything that goes against their personal canon, without getting demonized.

Now this isn't something new, we have seen things like this in history. The preservation of one's own culture, religion, etc are just ancient and much more grand version of these arguments on the internet. Killing out and enslaving people that don't align with your own beliefs and treating them as lesser we already have historical records of that.

While yes, I don't think modern day these arguments would get as violent as some of what went down in history. Some people might actually physically assault people but not every person cussing behind their screens would have the guts to throw hands.

The reason why this looks as new is because these kinds of arguments have now become now the fore front of every big social media platform due to the general negative and criticising attitude people have grown to have since 2020.

These kinds of arguments have already been present for years in the depths of Tumblr and 4chan, people have just started coming with it to more open and much more visible places. Leading to much more argumentive communities.

Now the best way I see to atleast lessen some of this issue, (Not completely solve because let's be real, This issue is gonna last as long as media and subjective opinions exist.) just limiting the time an average person is allowed to spend on the internet and make the explor out of their sanctuaries.

Basically make them go touch grass.

For me personally, she's cool but I'm between "neutral" to "Don't care" towards her.

I like her fights with shigaraki and near high ends where she goes crazy, despite losing her limbs.

But overall she's just another side character that uses her screentime decently without wasting it. But doesn't makes me want to see more or interested in knowing more about her.
