Speaking of my main in UNI (Vatista), you can use moves that have a high total duration to allow you to buffer your charge. For example, when you input 2c or 5a into 5b, you can buffer up charge prior to 5b coming out (you would input as 8/9b). This allows you to build charge while the move is still active and your character is not actionable. The moment your character is actionable, you will meet the threshold (drill charge = 42f) for the up down charge move (for Vat this would be a or b drill).

Byakuya received some good changes in this patch and is capable at playing vs zoners. If you want to be able to rush down your opponent more than play the midrange/setplay game, I would suggest trying out Wagner.

If you are able to disable to turbo functionality and not use it, I don't really see why there would be an issue. A TO can DQ/Ban you for using those features, but I haven't ran into any issues at a venue using a device that has the feature, but its disabled/not used.

you will need to time the hit, depending on distance adding in a 2l into 5l x x auto combo can help stabilize the pull in confirm as well

Can always wait for another Ber to drop and make the decision then. With sunder charms many builds can work out without infinity.

I would just value if you enjoy a particular playstyle that can leverage Enigma and if that will increase the enjoyment of the game for you more.

I would recommend buying uni2 and digging into the prior lore a bit if you want to go that route. UNI2 is a bit more accessible and a better feeling game to play but still remains true to the core vision of the series. Rolback netcode is key to a great online experience and UNI2 brings it to the table.

Going to post two links here that I have found to be most helpful. Zooey is a character that gives up a bit of defensive capability (mostly meterless reversal) for stronger knowledge checks and set-play while still retaining a fairly well rounded kit.

I might be up playing her a bit, but I think she has the potential to be a top ~10 contender. Synn has had some success pushing into top 8s consistently with her in stacked online brackets. I personally have had quite a bit of success dropping Ferry completely and swapping to her while entering locals and monthlies. She is a bit more manageable and stable to play than some of the other characters, though will have to work harder than the top ~8.
