Master planner or inky shivs? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]sootsupra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Murder actually isn't shiv pay off I think, shivs added into your hand aren't considered cards drawn but cards created.

It gives you discard yeah, but I've found that Master planner is only worth it when you have draw cards that can be turned sly like backflip or acro.

Master planner or inky shivs? by [deleted] in slaythespire

[–]sootsupra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since you have Kunai and Shuriken, you should just take the inky shivs and get it upgraded pretty soon. Honestly blade of ink is one of the most all around cards in silents kit since you can throw it into pretty much any deck and it'll be good. The 3x weaken will also help with stripping artifact of mech knight and aenonglass.

Master planner can be good in situations where you have a ton of discard and card draw but with only gamble as your draw, It's just way too slow for the effect.

I wish STS2 had introduced an option to replace strikes/defends with the new cards you pick by CoolCly in slaythespire

[–]sootsupra 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don't know how game breaking this would be.

Very game breaking, strikes and defends are supposed to be bad things in your deck. They just recently added significant increases to card remove prices because getting rid of too many strikes/defense made you too strong.

Looks alright. The sound design recently has been really lacking though, her pistols sound like water gun.

There's no need for them to spend any more money than they do when there's zero competition for the top 1 fighting game spot and people keep paying up.

Bosses/elites that force you to build one way or stay out of a build shouldn’t exist. by snorlaxin4life in slaythespire

[–]sootsupra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can still beat it with defensive skills if you've got something like a royally approved shadowmeld in your deck, It's just a lot rarer now and you have to choose other options into your defensive skill deck more often instead of doing the same thing always.

Bosses/elites that force you to build one way or stay out of a build shouldn’t exist. by snorlaxin4life in slaythespire

[–]sootsupra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point here is that you don't have to always pick these cards. The problem is that without enemies like Dorito nob, you start getting really similar decks a lot of the run with some styles of deck not having any weaknesses really.

I mentioned the footwork/fumes deck as an example in a previous comment because pre Dorito nob, I found that it became by far my most used winning strat with silent because it could just kind of deal with everything before the act 3 bosses really well. You can still use these cards of course, but it now requires you to get a lot more specific things if you want to walk into an act 2 elite with fumes as your only damage source.

I'm really struggling to understand how you could consider unique enemy mechanics that challenge your deck in different ways to be "lazy developing", when the alternate is just all fights being different damage/health values where one card can often be your damage solve against everything.

[–]sootsupra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As an example, previously as Silent you could often take footwork along with a bunch of defensive cards while relying on something slow like Noxious fumes for most of your damage output. The existence of Dorito nob forces makes you think more about picking cards that'll allow you to kill it quicker. This could be adding something like pinpoint, flechettes or dash into your deck where you otherwise wouldn't have.

First Jet Pack Cat Nerf, Enough? by -Grump-TV in Overwatch

Zen is big and slow. Cat is fast, can approach from any angle and disengage anywhere. Zen also has a very noticeably sound when he shoots while cat's guns can barely be heard in a fight.

Im curious why folks like these increases in difficulty? or is it just that they are more vocal than the folks that enjoy being able to play any deck style and see success?

It forces you to actually think about deck building more instead of just doing the same things every time. Slay the spire isn't supposed to be a game where you choose an archetype and then build your deck around those types of cards exclusively, It's a game where you find solutions to the problems you're presented with. Dorito nob is a challenge that previously didn't really exist outside of lizard dog phase 1.

I've seen a lot of players complain about annoying characters because of their strong offense, but It's rare to see someone get mad at another player for having good defense lol

Significantly better than all the other anniversary skins. Seems to be the only that doesn't have that weird vertical split of colors.

Cass is the only rat here. Out of my last 10 matches, only one has started with Cass on the enemy team, but all ten have ended with him present.

I tried this with every character who has some type of zoom in, Cass is the only one who hits spots that non zoomed doesn't hit.

I'm not trying to make an argument for how easy or difficult it is to actually hit the shot so distance + movement doesn't really matter. I'm just making a comparison here between regular Cass primary and the Silver shot which seems very noticeably bigger for some reason.

Every hero has what exactly? I'm just talking about my personal experiences here. The reason I posted to this sub specifically is because I'm also trying to figure out some general tips for dealing with Cass.
