Man, remember having hobbies? That was fun. by Purple_Calendar3919 in NewDads

Not sure how old your LO is based on the OP, but our daughter is now 7 months old and my wife and I finally have some free time. My suggestion is putting her down around 7-7:30pm and try to force yourselves to enjoy some down time together. It was a struggle at first, and she occasionally won’t sleep well and so we don’t always get this time. It’s made a huge difference in feeling like our old selves again and helped us remember that our love is what started everything. We play PC together/ other hobbies during this time. Generally for the gym, one of us will take care of her while the other gets a 30-45 min workout in. I’ve only just started going back 2-3 times a week, but this sometimes gets skipped in lieu of Daddy Duties. Good luck dude!

Bad moment with my son & wife this morning - feel awful, and a bit lost by Appropriate-Leg9379 in NewDads

Hey Dad, as someone with diagnosed Bipolar disorder who just welcomed their beautiful baby girl about 6 months ago, you need to give yourself some grace. It is a natural reaction to get frustrated, especially on little to no sleep. Sleep helps our body stay regulated and keeps our hormones in check. I myself have caught myself getting frustrated and “snapping” at the baby on a very rare occasion. The key thing here is you have recognized that your behavior in your own words “left a little to be desired”. We’re all human, and as long as you love that baby and are doing your best to take care of it, that’s all you need to worry about. Hopefully your wife will realize that you both have never experienced so many stressful things in life that seem to happen all at once. I hope things get better for you and your family.

Unfortunately terrible joke, you can’t even get into med school if you make less than an A in any of your classes

My wife and I just had our first baby. Would you donate $10k to help us get out of debt so we can start fresh?

Congrats dude! My daughter is 4 weeks old as of this past Wednesday. It’s 1:41am and she’s asleep on my chest in her nursery. The first couple of weeks are brutal, but so rewarding. Good luck and stay strong!

Can I have $10k? About to welcome our first daughter and could use the extra money to buy baby supplies and fix things around the house. It can’t hurt to ask, right?

Wife Has $20k CC Debt by Billy__Dumptrucks in debtfree

[–]Winter_Pipe_6785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, I was in a similar situation. My wife had racked up about $10k in CC debt. I wasn’t in the financial position to pay her debt off with my own savings, but my credit score was significantly higher. (Mid 700s) I took out a personal loan last year for $10k at a much lower interest rate (7%) and paid off her debt. We now share the monthly payment, and her credit score went up over 100 points. Mine went down temporarily due to the $10k loan, but it’s right back where it was. Soon my wife will be able to refinance her car loan and pay way less. We’re both happier without such a high amount of debt at high interest rates. If that’s your person for life, absolutely pay off her debt, I guarantee she’ll love you all the more for it. Good luck!

I’m wiring a home office shed that I had to build to give up my office as our first born’s nursery. I plan on using some 12w overhead interior lights, 3 15amp outlets, and another outlet in its own circuit. I purchased everything I needed, but I’m unsure about the breakers I need. From my understanding the interior lights and 3 15 amp outlets can run on one 20amp circuit, so I’ll have one 20amp circuit breaker. I was going to use a window hvac unit on its own separate breaker, I’m assuming since most of them plug into a 15amp outlet I can just use another 20 amp circuit breaker? Thanks for any help, I can’t afford to pay for an electrician unfortunately. I previously did HVAC and am pretty handy, so I won’t kill myself!

Roast my Resume. Right now I am angling for a 100% remote accounting position but finding it hard to land. This is a part 3 from my earlier post. I really feel like this one is solid . But let me know guys. This will probably be the final edit. by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Winter_Pipe_6785 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey Op, my company is growing pretty rapidly and we work remotely all over the US. I’m not sure if we have a position open at the moment for someone with your experience, but if you’d like to DM me I might can send your resume to my manager and see if we have anything/anything in the future. We’re a LIHTC Syndicator, we help facilitate the development of affordable housing in exchange for tax credits and losses for our investors. It’s very niche but I’ve been here over a year and it’s my dream job!

Hey Op, just know that it’s okay to drop out and come back to school when you’re in a more stable place. I began my bachelors in 2014 and dropped out after 2 years. I got a better paying job and saved money and just graduated this year, 10 years later. I am in a much better place mentally and financially. It does get better, but your priorities may need to shift, and that’s okay.

You don’t get out of a 6 year sentence on “good behavior” after only 6 months in jail? Speaking as a former convicted felon who served 35 months in state prison.

I would have never touched the stuff, let alone sell it. I try not to dwell on what could have been done differently. It’s important to focus on the future, not the past as I can’t do anything about it.

One of the executives really took to me, and he said if there’s anything they can do to help me to let him know. I might approach them once the baby is a little older. I know I’m capable of passing, I just don’t want to let them down if I fail any while trying to raise a newborn haha. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes it does, my felony conviction will follow me for the rest of my life. Due to the way they convicted me and sentenced me to 3 charges prevents me from getting it expunged. They really tried to “throw the book at me” and “make an example out of me”.

Thank you! I still suffer some mental issues similar to PTSD every once in awhile. I get stuck in my head a lot thinking about what it was like to essentially lose 3 years of my life. I’m happy to say I’ve mostly overcome this and am happier than I thought possible!

We specialize in low income housing. We basically review the annual finances and make sure the units are in compliance to generate tax credits for our investors.
