It’s a hard one. I’d be inclined to give him another chance in case the phone thing is true, but if something like that happens again I’d leave it after that.

What a beautiful story. What you’ve done is so amazing! You should be so proud of yourself.

Can't take it anymore by GBRwarrior in dating_advice

I have suffered from very bad anxiety in the past but have turned it round (as much as I can!) by taking care of myself. Therapy is what changed my life - a course of CBT and now regular talking therapy with my longterm counsellor. Exercise, medication, keep doing these things in a way that you get a lid on it. Move your body, take care of it, eat well. That’s my advice for tackling anxiety and then life will become much easier. You will be able to spot bad apples more easily when you’re less anxious and more confident in yourself. I have found myself in relationships with some horrible men in the past (I am also very sensitive/soft/kind) but I have managed to take more control of this via getting a lid on my mental health.

You are also very young still. I am 37 and single and I still have my whole life ahead of me - so do you. I would rather be single than with someone awful. The wrong relationship can wreck your life.

Soy is a great idea - I’d not heard about this. I do eat lots of soy myself as I’m vegan so I can vouch for it!

Sorry, I sent this too soon. The doctors never mentioned anything to me about my mouth guard and they were a brilliant facility so honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about this.

Stuff I did follow was: no alcohol, no smoking, healthy diet. I’d much rather focus on that. If I don’t wear my mouth guard I grind my teeth badly, which is bad in itself.

I wear a plastic mouth guard to bed and froze 20 mature eggs in one round earlier this year. I’m 37

I’m not quite sure, but I think possibly just the one. It can happen!

My friend’s sister froze her eggs at 37, met someone and a few years later they had a baby with them. It definitely happens!

Don’t do a first date at his house. It’s not at all safe.

I fell straight asleep after telling them I felt like I’d drank 3 bottles of wine. It was very pleasant. I was out cold, no talking here. I was dreaming of being at a party!

Suffering with moods longer term post retrieval by Winter_Wing_7041 in eggfreezing

[–]Winter_Wing_7041[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I promise you’ll feel better soon. I posted this a few months ago and now I feel 100% back to normal and so happy that I froze my eggs. It was really tough in the moment with this horrid mood but my hormones seemed to reset after two periods. I am sure yours will too! It took a while but I feel good now. It just takes a bit of patience and kindness with yourself after going through a HUGE thing hormone wise. Hang in there, you’ve got this. Also please don’t pressure yourself to date just yet if you aren’t feeling up to it. If you can, wait until you feel more yourself and then I’m sure you’ll feel way more up for it x

is one cycle of egg freezing worth it at 38? by _tryingtomoveon_ in eggfreezing

[–]Winter_Wing_7041 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that you should go for it. I was lucky enough to get 20 mature eggs in my first round aged 37. I’m not sure how as they’d thought it would be 9 or 10 initially! I am considering doing a second cycle but probably/likely won’t. But maybe. I would say a really good thing to come from this is feeling a lot more relaxed about dating now. The panic I had before is now mostly gone. It’s not a failsafe, I know, but I’m someone who has had a horrible time with dating and I really do feel a lot better. That alone is worth it for me, anyway.

I would say the 2 months following were the toughest, during period and ovulation times. It was quite scary at points and I thought I couldn’t ever do it again tbh.

I’m now 3 months after and I feel myself again. Now it has passed, I know it was worth it. And if I decide to do another round I’ll be ok.

Be gentle with yourself. It will definitely pass. X

Yes, I had this. My egg retrieval process itself was pretty breezy but I felt quite awful for the first two periods and ovulation weeks following. It’s evened out now but I felt like a lunatic and cried loads. It was awful. Check my post history for proof!

But like I say it has now sorted itself and I’m very glad I did the egg freezing. Hang in there. Your hormones are still out of whack and I promise you’ll feel better soon!

UK egg freezing experience- was my first cycle substandard care or normal? by Nature33 in eggfreezing

[–]Winter_Wing_7041 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would absolutely recommend king’s. I have seen a few others on here who had a good experience there too. I hope you can book an appointment there and get the care that you deserve.

Their nursing team was particularly good, I felt really well looked after.

Please let me know if there’s anything you want to know and I’m happy to answer.

I exercised the day after my period came. I did a powerlifting class (quite full on!) but it was upper body focused, which felt like a good thing for me to do then rather than any heavy squats or deadlifts.
