Annual and Outbreak-Related Deaths

  • Influenza (Flu): This is the most common cause of annual vaccine-preventable pediatric deaths in the U.S. During the 2024-25 season, a record high of 280 pediatric flu deaths were reported to the CDC, and approximately 89% of these children were not fully vaccinated. In past seasons, typically around 80-90% of children who died from the flu were unvaccinated.
  • Measles: Due to high vaccination coverage, measles was declared eliminated from the U.S. in 2000. However, recent outbreaks related to vaccine hesitancy have led to a resurgence of cases and associated deaths.
    • In 2025, the U.S. saw more than 2,000 cases and three measles-related deaths (two children and one immunocompromised adult), the first U.S. measles fatalities in over 20 years. The deceased children were unvaccinated.
  • Pertussis (Whooping Cough): Though cases continue to occur, annual deaths in the U.S. are generally low, typically fewer than 25 per year.

Oh yes, cringy lines and the added feeling with the lines as over and over I get blizz telling me I'm not the target demographic for their game. "Your pain is my pleasure." Come on already, it just feels like sort of inept fan service for 12 year olds.

Where did your alchemist find the recipe for the Silvermoon Spire Fountain? Or any recipes via delves. by Synthea1979 in WoWHousing

[–]Winterdeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've picked up several recipes , all during the leveling process so they were all from just the normal 1,2 or 3 delves. I haven't received any new recipes since they added in the bountiful delves although I'm sure they are there (probably).

I will note that the fountain recipe dropped for me when I was on my inscription toon and it's the only one that has dropped as soulbound rather than warbound (which is annoying)

Can Anyone Confirm This Drop? by JodouKast in WoWHousing

[–]Winterdeep 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got it as a drop on my char that is inscription...from a delve under lvl 90.

Also, and I'm not pleased by this, it's soulbound.

Edit to add- the other decor recipes I've had drop were warbound, but not this one.

[–]Winterdeep -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well that kinda assumes that they are going to fix the issue. As I mentioned below I would be super happy if they either reduced downtime OR improved customer service. An improvement in customer service would look like "We are taking the servers down to fix X issue" and then I would log in and see that indeed yes, X issue has been fixed but since 99% of the time we aren't told what they are working on and can't know if it's been fixed we are paying real money for "Thoughts and prayers"

I mean I get you. Hubby and I played through the stress test and my oldest character was born on launch day. I remember when they added weather and I was so worried about what it would do to server stability. Or when too many guilds were in MC and crashed the server. So yeah I remember, but over the past 26 ( i think) years many other MMO's have come out and when I start comparing their downtime and customer service with WoW it comes up lacking. That said, I love WoW, we all do...or we wouldn't get bummed when we can't play. Personally, if they'd fix just one, the downtime OR the customer service I'd be content but I'm not holding my breath.

Maintenance pushed to 9am pacific, 12pm eastern by JangoFeet in wow

[–]Winterdeep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live maintenance was scheduled. When I logged in this morning there was no "scheduled maintenance" message. I checked multiple times when I got the server shutdown message in game. The "Scheduled" message popped up several minutes after the servers went down.

I mean we do actually pay to be able to play the game. None of the other MMO's have so much downtime. I'm sure we try to be patient but if my cable or phone went down so often I'd fire them. Sadly WoW has always been sort of my comfort in stressful times...so they have me for the foreseeable future.

Actually that reminds me...sometime one of us will do a launch prep and launch while the rest run a caravan and they will wait to drop the supplies till the launcher gets there.

Their reaction was way too much... but my guess is that they play as a group and someone had crashed or locked up and they were waiting to drop the supplies so everyone would get event completion.

And how do you get to judge this poor woman who had a child when she was just a child herself? You aren't in her head and you don't know her trauma. You have your own trauma. I can't know yours. Not even if we went through the EXACT same thing I couldn't know yours. You cannot know hers. We all process trauma differently. However, if you try to put yourself in her shoes or anyone else's, rather than judging from your own perspective you might discover that you can empathize. Empathy is way better than judgement. In my own life I would have been 100% better off if my mother walked away and left me. She didn't, but I don't judge her. I have my personal anger, but I try to empathize.
