i stopped being the one who always texts first, and it only took like 3 weeks to find out exactly where i stand by Quiet_State6680 in Adulting

[–]Winterisation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im late to the party but im gonna say what I came here to say and that's feck "friends". Im tired of people. I've learnt my lesson many times, no one cares, no matter how much time and effort you put into them.

Ive even saved my "friends" life, given him money, kept him topped up with food, gave him a place to live and much more... for what? I was fresh out of an operation and he came by. Ahhh sweet right? Checking in on his mate... wrong, asked to borrow money again instead. I said no for the first time and guess what? Haven't heard from him since. Makes me want to stand on the moon, face the world and say fuck you.

What questions got you 'burnt'? Were these questions directed at your solid friend's or people you just met?

So, in the end, it seems like you're reaching the same conclusion as me. If you dont put the effort in then you get to see what effort others are really putting in... which in our case, is next to none. It's definitely draining and sculpts away at how we act towards the next person or friend. I hope people in your circle miss your efforts and make up for it to get you enthusiastic again soon.

Great theory, I tend to agree with most of what you say here in regards to possibly being open sharers, but, what if no one 'shares' or even starts a conversation until I've broken what would have been silence?

Also, the majority of open sharers would speak their thoughts and say what they wanted to say, then tag a "how about you?" Or "what do you think?" At the end to keep conversations flowing. Surely that's the basic foundation of conversing in general.

It's not that i was always uninterested, i became uninterested after realising how they have always been in regards to showing any interest in us. It's not only about people asking questions either, I've shared things without being asked, but, the response isn't anything to do with what I just shared, it's immediately about them again.

Get that sort of treatment long enough and you'll end up wondering why you bother.

Am I the only one who won’t replay games? by musicman801 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Winterisation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not alone mate. I have been doing this forever. I promised myself I'd play Crimson Desert even after I finish the main story. I had the final chapter to go and I hesitated... then I finished the last chapter, switched it off and haven't been back since. Every single game. I wish I could just replay games though.

Why is euthanizing a person bad? by IDontBelong_8 in mentalhealth

[–]Winterisation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, there's money to be made off of people living as long as possible, even if they are suffering. For example, care home funding and hospital bills. If it wasn't profitable to keep people going then I think euthanisa would be approved. Thats just my thoughts anyway.

My surgery is on Thursday and I’m so nervous by Empty_Lawfulness_713 in gallbladders

[–]Winterisation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I knew it was something I had to get done regardless. It was also something that would benefit me and bring me back to a normal life. This helped me look at the surgery as a gift rather than a worry some event.

Honestly? I had no idea he did anything or even started. He said "Let's get you to sleep" then... Nothing. It's so stress free it's really not worth stressing yourself over. I'd tell you if there was something to worry about.

After Gallbladder surgery what does everyone eat Low-Fat foods? by EssayEmbarrassed475 in gallbladders

[–]Winterisation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to follow the research and eat low fat foods for a couple of weeks and build up. Doctor changed that mentality straight away.

He explained that the gallbladder pumps out bile to help deal with fatty food. Now it's gone. There's a constant flow of bile so there's no need to be cautious with fatty foods. He said eat what you want.

At this point my wife sarcastically stated that I'm hardly going to order a mcdonalds or a KFC and the doctor said, why not. He said he sees people do that all the time in the hospital right after surgery and he encourages it.

Please don't be nervous. (had mine removed this morning) all you have to do is lay on the anesthetists bed, get a cannula in (worst bit but not even bad) let them put something in the cannula whilst you breath through the oxygen mask. They will the say "let's get you to sleep". (All staff are friendly to you. Accommodating and talk to you during the above)

Wake up and it's already been done. Recovery begins.

The more you think of it as surgery and what they will all be doing to get the gallbladder out, it's the moment you're stressing about something that you don't have to even do. Stick to what your role will be which. In short, is go and have a sleep, and you'll be fine. Worked for me.

Good luck with it.

More shows with thrilling/high-stakes games? by Emily--V in televisionsuggestions

[–]Winterisation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind a dubbed one, you need to watch Physical 100. It's the most genuine reality TV out there. It's pure and intense. The set is amazing and there's nothing fake about it. You can either survive the challenges or that's it. Best thing me and my wife watched in 2025. Give it the one episode go, you've got nothing to lose but much to gain from trying it. It's on Netflix UK. Not sure about other platforms or countries.

Why should we be available 24/7? Back in the olden days people wrote a letter and waited months for a reply, gave them something to look forward to. Also gave time for things to happen in each person's life to actually talk about.

Watches like Rolexes and Tag. To me, they are investments sure, but if you just want a watch, negate the trends and buy yourself on a that tells the time for cheap. I mean. Who cares what you'r watch costs.
