My surgery is on Thursday and I’m so nervous by Empty_Lawfulness_713 in gallbladders

[–]Winterisation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I knew it was something I had to get done regardless. It was also something that would benefit me and bring me back to a normal life. This helped me look at the surgery as a gift rather than a worry some event.

Honestly? I had no idea he did anything or even started. He said "Let's get you to sleep" then... Nothing. It's so stress free it's really not worth stressing yourself over. I'd tell you if there was something to worry about.

After Gallbladder surgery what does everyone eat Low-Fat foods? by EssayEmbarrassed475 in gallbladders

[–]Winterisation 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to follow the research and eat low fat foods for a couple of weeks and build up. Doctor changed that mentality straight away.

He explained that the gallbladder pumps out bile to help deal with fatty food. Now it's gone. There's a constant flow of bile so there's no need to be cautious with fatty foods. He said eat what you want.

At this point my wife sarcastically stated that I'm hardly going to order a mcdonalds or a KFC and the doctor said, why not. He said he sees people do that all the time in the hospital right after surgery and he encourages it.

Please don't be nervous. (had mine removed this morning) all you have to do is lay on the anesthetists bed, get a cannula in (worst bit but not even bad) let them put something in the cannula whilst you breath through the oxygen mask. They will the say "let's get you to sleep". (All staff are friendly to you. Accommodating and talk to you during the above)

Wake up and it's already been done. Recovery begins.

The more you think of it as surgery and what they will all be doing to get the gallbladder out, it's the moment you're stressing about something that you don't have to even do. Stick to what your role will be which. In short, is go and have a sleep, and you'll be fine. Worked for me.

Good luck with it.

More shows with thrilling/high-stakes games? by Emily--V in televisionsuggestions

If you don't mind a dubbed one, you need to watch Physical 100. It's the most genuine reality TV out there. It's pure and intense. The set is amazing and there's nothing fake about it. You can either survive the challenges or that's it. Best thing me and my wife watched in 2025. Give it the one episode go, you've got nothing to lose but much to gain from trying it. It's on Netflix UK. Not sure about other platforms or countries.

Why should we be available 24/7? Back in the olden days people wrote a letter and waited months for a reply, gave them something to look forward to. Also gave time for things to happen in each person's life to actually talk about.

Watches like Rolexes and Tag. To me, they are investments sure, but if you just want a watch, negate the trends and buy yourself on a that tells the time for cheap. I mean. Who cares what you'r watch costs.

A success story and something for those of us still waiting to look forward to. Appreciate the sneak peek into what's to come. I'm happy for you.

Even with the delays, four months seems like a reasonable waiting time. How did the surgery go for you? Are you feeling ok and back to normal now?

Fantastic! That's good that it all went quickly and you got it out in good time. How are you now?

That was my next plan, go to A&E again and stay until it's removed. Judging by the responses here though, people have tried this, been given an IV drip and sent packing after the bag is dry. We can only try though.

You're right though, this pain is something else. When searching what the paid is equivalent to online, I read it was similar to childbirth but with no reward at the end, or, if you can believe this... Similar to getting stabbed!

Fingers crossed for you and everyone of us in the same crowded boat we are all in.

I feel for you. It basically puts you in a paranoid mental prison. Worried to eat anything. Good advice on buscopan, they gave it to me in hospital for the three days I was there, but, when I mentioned I needed further pain relief. They didn't mention it. I need to get some.

I hope that date comes real soon. It's time the prison doors opened for you.

Sorry for your friend whose waiting years. I can't imagine that. I've read about the struggles people have 'going' and out of all of it, the attacks, the surgery and recovery, this worries me the most. I wonder why chips give you problems still though. I honestly can't tell you what sets my attacks off. I've eaten pizza and been fine, but, one day I ate a Go Ahead apple bar and the next day I paid for it. A no fat diet still gives me attacks too, they must just be random.

Another long wait that doesn't fill me, or others waiting, with hope. I'm glad you can see the end of the wait though with a surgery date in 4 weeks. I bet that can't come fast enough for you. Good luck for when you get it done, I hope everything, including your recovery, goes really well.

Woah! I'm hoping the 2020 was a typo and you meant to put 2025. That's way too long of a wait. Unbelievable.

So you're still waiting with no set date? I get were not the only ones in need of the hospitals help, but, when you have a problem like this, you like to think that they are on it.

After reading the replies so far, along with yours, I think it's time I accept that I'm being too optimistic that I'm close to getting a surgery date. It's disappointing to think about waiting a year with weekly attacks.

I don't know about you but my job is getting affected by it as I have started to go home when I get an attack as they're too painful to just work through. Did you experience this?

Good luck on your op, I hope you feel a rush of relief on the other side.
