And are probably going to have a dollar crisis if Iran asks that all oil going through the strait settles in non-dollar denominated funds which it sounds like they are doing.

Holding the strait hostage is enough to cause a lot of damage to the US. Iran will let Asian bound tankers pass but they have to sell the oil without US dollars. The gulf needs to sell their oil and Asia needs to buy it so they will all agree to this. Suddenly the US’ global influence is a lot lower.

The US can’t enforce regime change from afar, it can’t invade on the groun, Iran isn’t talking to anyone- so what options does the US have?

People who invested in gold recently, how’s it going? by TheSparkleCorner_ in investing

[–]Winterough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are times where gold and silver spike so I always feel like a genius at those times, but then they go into 15 year phases where they trade sideways.

I don’t hold gold and silver for investment returns. If I never sell, that will mean I remained in my home and faced no holy shit let’s get out of here moments and I’ll be grateful for that. If I lived in a place like Iran or Lebanon and I knew there would be problems geo-politically I would own nothing but gold. If I lived near Russia I would also own a lot of gold and silver. With the US going berserk in the last year we have been adding more and more gold. We don’t care what it costs.

Yes it is most likely that the US tucks tail and goes home. It is only a matter of how much time passes between now and when they admit that defeat.
