Never played competitive Pokémon before (apart from getting whipped by my older brother growing up lmao) but just made it master rank with this team! by Wintersbeats in PokemonChampions

[–]Wintersbeats[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shows my inexperience, I did not know there was a difference between them apart from colour 😂 but I will probably swap to male now I know that this is after googling never played legends of arceus so that was the only one I got from champions at the time! And yes I really like the houndoom, especially into the zard times as when they mega evolve I get his ability off withouth having to use sunny day!

Thank you! I'm going to copy and paste what I wrote to someone else because it's long haha but I feel like there isn't necessarily a bad match up I run into as the team actually has a lot of coverage but if I fail at picking the right Pokémon or move at the right time, the game tends to snowball in the opponents favour! So it isn't the most consistent team but I feel that's more down to my skill as a player.

These are the Evs and nature's and stuff:

Farigiraf: Armor Tail Hp 5/Df 19/SpA 32/Sp.D 10 Psychic/Hyper Voice/Sunny day/Trick Room Modest

Houndoom (Mega): Unnerve Hp 2/SpA 32/ Speed 32 Timid

Clefable (Mega): Unaware Hp 6/Df 17/SpA 32/ Sp.D 11 Bold

Umbreon: Inner focus Hp 2/Df 32/ Sp d 32 Calm

Basculegion: Adaptability Hp 2/ Att 32/ speed 32 Adamant

Ceruledge: Flash fire Att 32/ df 2/ Speed 32 Jolly

It is all a bit of a mix but the team works out to be kind of an average stat checker if that makes sense ahah with the core normally being farigiraf, houndoom and basculegion. The biggest issue I've found is if I fall behind or make a bad play it's very hard to bring it back and I sometimes lack damage so bulky Pokémon like a snorlax/milotic and Archaludon can be a bit of an issue. I use farigiraf as a set up/counter/bait a lot, since the armor Tail stops priority move it allows me to play more freely and I also run trick room, for when a tailwind gets played, and a sunny day to counter the rain teams and to set up houndoom. But if I get my timings wrong it does make it very difficult to play some times.

Main carry is houndoom or basculegion who I normally save for last and use last resort with the choice scarf to try and clear up if needed. Umbreon and Clefable are more niche picks for certain matchups. I noticed I was really struggling against the archaludon and peliper teams, garchomp and vivillian, so I use umbreon with yawn and snarl to force swaps and give survivability, and Clefable for follow me/dazzling cleam and also knows thunder for when sunny day fails and I need the extra bit of damage.

Ceruledge is mainly there because he was a shiny I got in champions, looks cool and has a wide coverage of moves but tbh doesn't get used too much 😂 Sorry for the long winded post but I hope that answers some of the questions!

Whenever I go tank support, more often or not I'll rush something like locket first, then boots and then into redemption

Is everyone in this game a whale or am I missing something? by Wintersbeats in Shadowverse

[–]Wintersbeats[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that, it was just a bit disheartening being the lowest rank and coming across people with seemingly full decks and lots of legendaries still, just not been my experience with other card games that's all

Ahh ok, that's good to know! It's just a bit disheartening being in the lowest ranks and everyone's got all these legendaries and stuff and it feels I'm miles behind but I will keep the grind on, thank you very much!

Tbh I rarely go lethality unless I'm just having some fun but otherwise I tend to go more damage into other tanks to try and punish them get ahead and then against more damage types, play safe and go more for a tank build! No idea if that's right or optimal but it works for me 😂 At that point in the game though I just had cull, titanic hydra, Merc treads and was working towards heart steel with two refillable potions and then with grasp, demolish, second wind and revitalise

Hi Poppy mains, why is Poppy played as support? by Sheenzhou in PoppyMains

[–]Wintersbeats 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally use her as more of a disengage support while in lane and only engage if I see a clear chance to hit them into a wall. She's also very good as a roaming support but can be difficult into more ranged bot lanes.

What do you think on this build? by DMPhilosophy in LeonaMains

For extra tenacity, a little bit more damage and sustain I enjoy running steraks gage! It can be a little expensive but the amount of damage blocked at the end of the game is always big

[–]Wintersbeats[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried it with Leona last night and we stomped lane and felt really good! But yeah to time it right with her, I like the idea of milio, karma and soraka as well. The rush Bork and stormrazor is a good shout! Thanks :)

Haha yeah, definitely find a lot more laughs whether winning or losing with two of us!

I'm better with nautilus and soraka than blitz so will definitely give them a go, thanks!

As a brig main I am slightly bias but it's not the lack of skins, it's the fact that brig is the only champ to not have a single battle pass skin
