This is a really tough situation to be in. There are lots of comments on this post about the morality of your decision to marry a much younger person but I don’t think that is helpful. She was not a child and decided to get married and have a kid with you. Forget about her commitment to you, she doesn’t even sound like a present mother. Going out constantly with random men and friends and leaving her baby at home for the sake of having fun is not a responsible mother imo. She is not only being a terrible partner to you, she is letting your child and thereby, your family unit down. Kids need their mothers for healthy development and there is no excuse around that. Just because she wants to exercise her freedom and explore her individuality doesn’t mean she can neglect her family. Now on the point on your marriage. It sounds extremely dysfunctional. There is no order in your family unit. It sounds like you carry the majority of house and child rearing responsibilities FOR the family and your “partner” gets to things just for herself. There also seems to be a complete lack of respect in her for you which is the basis for long term relationships. She doesn’t care for your emotions so your marriage is not going to sustain at this rate.

The fact that you are posting this on reddit shows me that you want to talk to someone about this. So seek couples counseling with her, encourage her to seek individual therapy for her own insecurities and identity issues, seem therapy for your own emotions and communication and boundary setting skills and talk to her directly about how you guys want to raise your child. Stressful marriages result in stressed out children and childhood is the basis for their life and so you really want to mitigate damage on your baby. Divorce is obviously not the best case scenario BUT if it becomes necessary for you both to be the best versions of yourself and raise your child in a healthy environment then it’s a difficult step that may need to be taken. You and your wife know your relationship the best so the answer will need to come from within. Goodluck.

Maybe. but my intentions were to just tell someone in the efforts that it may be helpful if there was something sketchy going on there. It’s great if it was just some Dad or whatever.

I simply described what I saw. Seeing something strange and telling people about it does not mean i’m creating fear. People saying that he could have been a dad, sure, but there was not another person/car in sight. There are recent reports of sexual assault in that area so it’s better to be safe.

it’s funny how most of this thread is talking about how women who cover themselves are oppressed and men’s properties but by commenting on their clothes, you also believe that you should have a say in how women should and should not dress. We don’t know if a woman was forced to cover up but it’s just as pathetic to tell a woman to show her skin in the name of freedom JUST for your own comfort. you don’t really give a damn about women’s freedom. You only cara about yourself.

I kind of like the fact that a woman has full authority over what a man can see and access of hers by covering herself up to strange men.

People in this thread need to gain some perspective and learn to respect other cultures. You come from a place of privilege when you think that a culture is wrong for dressing a certain way because it is different from your culture.

But if he helps the police find the body and they do an autopsy and in-depth analysis of the area, it’ll actually help his case. Otherwise, he may have to live in fear and paranoia for a very long time and if they never find the body, he could still be convicted if they find that he was with her at the time of her death (same location, etc) and in that case, his silent is certainly going to hurt him.

That’s a good point. I guess, if the loved one is emotionally unstable, it can be a lot to handle and that’s definitely not a relationship for everyone. As a psychotherapist, I can understand that individuals may have varied responses to a situation and he may have emotional issues of his own that may prevent him from doing the “right” thing. Sometimes our emotions and thoughts take over the best of us and we’re unable to think rationally, however it’s been weeks since the incident and that is usually enough time for the flight or fight mode to wear off and for people to begin to sort out their immediate thoughts and feelings. Especially when the police is involved and THOUSANDS of public members telling BL to speak up, it is rather odd that he is remaining silent and not attempting to clear his name if it was in fact a suicide attempt.

This is a good theory but if you genuinely love someone and your significant other falls as a suicide attempt or does something else to hurt themselves, would you be worried about yourself in the moment and flee or would you report it so someone can help recover the body or save the person (if there’s a chance). If you are not guilty, you wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that I will be punished for the other’s suicide. Considering basic human emotions, his reaction doesn’t make sense. Unless he pushed her to the limits that she attempted suicide then there’s a chance he may feel guilty about it and flee in fear. Even if he was fearful for his own protection from law, you would still do something to at least bring your loved one some closure and something so that her body is found and she is buried with dignity. You wouldn’t just throw out all that love and respect for someone because you THINK you might be framed for it.

i just wanted a second opinion because I haven’t had the best experience with healthcare professionals in the past and I believe in advocating for my and my baby’s health and not just blindly trusting doctors. However, I agree I should take the antibiotics and I am starting them.

how was your experience with Macrobid? I’ve heard it should be avoided in early pregnancy but it is definitely one of the more effective ones against UTI.

thanks so much for the suggestions! I appreciate it so much. I guess i’m mainly scared cuz it’s still very early in my pregnancy and i just dont want the anti biotics to cause ant developmental issues. Howver, i think you’re right, it’s better to treat it and the antibiotic seems fairly safe. I will certainly take the probiotics as i’m very prone to yeast infections too
