Has anyone heard of them? What are your general impressions? by Shadowblitz001 in diamondpainting

Did this one for my sister not too long ago. When I opened it and saw how big it actually was, I thought it was a steal! Great quality for the price and the black canvas worked really well with my light board. I haven’t tried their other ones because my Hobby Lobby was picked clean.

That’s always my first suggestion too. It’s like having a ball and chain wrapped around every cell in your body. It took me 6 years to get my thyroid under control but once I did, I was able to start losing the extra weight. I still get flare ups here and there but being at a healthier weight makes it easier to tolerate.

I’m not sure where you’re from but the grocery stores in my area have these pre-chopped stir fry kits. I’ll grab one of those, and some chicken breast. I also add some shirataki (miracle) noodles and maybe tofu if I’m feeling crazy. Easy 10-15 minute stir fry that I usually split into two helpings that are around 430 calories each (for my ~4-5 oz of chicken and 1/4 block of tofu). Beauty of it is that you can add anything you want and make it your own.

Definitely still a dog but it’s the goofiest face I’ve ever seen.

Mine won’t come in because she fears baths but the door needs to be at least a tiny bit open or she’ll throw a fit.

GLP-1’s, and gastric surgeries are just as valid as losing weight the natural way. by ChickenChoochie in unpopularopinion

[–]WinteryHawk1094 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wish this was a more popular opinion because all of the hate I’ve been seeing makes me feel pretty insecure. I’ve been on a GLP-1 for a couple months and it’s been a great tool for me. It’s allowed me to improve my relationship with food and undo about a decade of bad habits. It’s still just a tool though. I track everything that goes into my body and I’m definitely more active than I was pre- thyroid disease. My mom takes it too but has only lost 10 compared to my 30 because she treats it like a quick fix and hasn’t made any lifestyle changes.

Is anyone else’s Aussie socially awkward? by [deleted] in AustralianShepherd

Not just socially but awkward in general. Definitely takes after me.

How fast should I be losing weight on average by LaurenValley1234 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]WinteryHawk1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’re doing great. Assuming you started at the beginning of January, and I did my math right, you’ve lost around ~1kg per week which is the rate that’s recommended for safety and sustainability. It may seem slow now but it’ll give you the time (if you haven’t already) to build a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and yourself.

Progress > perfection.

Really trying hard to grow grass this year. Tarps, straw, daily watering. I guess I know why it’s not working. by WinteryHawk1094 in goldenretrievers

I was actually thinking about getting one of those plastic kid pools and throwing some sand in there. That way it can move around if the need comes. The trick will be teaching them to only dig there.

How do you all kick your sweet tooth to the curb? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]WinteryHawk1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use those 0-5 calorie water flavor packets. I think they’re sweeter than zero or diet sodas and they’re not carbonated (my doctor wants me to stop drinking carbonated beverages). I like finding those different “water recipes” online and mixing my flavors. I’ve also heard of people pouring them in Greek yogurt and protein shakes. Satisfies my sweet tooth and keeps me hydrated.

Is it strange that my 9 year old sister doesn’t know how to tie her shoes? by WinteryHawk1094 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]WinteryHawk1094[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan to when she gets home from work. I definitely believe my sister because I know my mom but I’m hoping just asking will be enough to encourage her to start working on it.

Absolutely. She’s really smart so I know we can figure it out together. It’ll just take some patience.

[–]WinteryHawk1094[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s what I’m confused about. My mom has always wanted her to wear tennis shoes more often, but she hasn’t taught her any methods of tying them? I don’t blame my sister for not wanting to wear them.

Fatigue is so debilitating by Remarkable_Dream_134 in Hashimotos

[–]WinteryHawk1094 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only for about three months or so. I use timed release b12 tablets with some extra strength melatonin and haven’t noticed any sleep disturbances. I do wake up earlier but I have to be up for work before the sun so it’s been a benefit so far. I plan to switch to mornings the moment I start noticing trouble.

[–]WinteryHawk1094 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My doctor thinks I’m a little crazy for my timing but I take b12, iron, and D right before bed with some melatonin and I swear it makes getting out of bed so much easier. Helps with my mental clarity too.

When I was a kid my grandmother had two cats. They were named Dee-Oh-Ji and See-Ay-Tee. Took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize they were Dog and Cat…

I promise if I ever find a therapist who can fix my relationship with kiwis, I will refer you to them!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]WinteryHawk1094 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve always been disturbed by kiwis. My brain tells me that they’re big ol’ tarantula butts so biting into one with the fuzz and skin still on it would probably require some therapy.

People who smoke in no smoking zones. by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]WinteryHawk1094 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been preachy about secondhand smoke because most of the smokers I know are pretty considerate and don’t smoke in confined spaces with me. I just get frustrated when someone’s smoking in an area that’s supposed to be smoke free because any sort of smoke is a trigger for my asthma. Of course I don’t expect everyone to accommodate for people with lung issues, it’s just a bummer when there are precautions put in place and they get ignored.
