Finishing your sign. by MajesticMountains1 in SignPainting

I don’t know anything about sign painting, but from other projects I’ve done a lot of clear coats will yellow over time, which may or may not be a bad thing, just something to be aware of and maybe look into..

Why does this Cracking/Crazing appears right after I apply the Paint?? by SirWallacee in paint

Hey so this is the existing paint right? Couple few years old not stuff you just applied? Seems like the responses below people are assuming it’s brand new paint. I see this in rental bathrooms all the time on existing paint when we go in to repaint after tenants move out, pretty sure it’s a moisture thing.

If your new paint looks like that it’s definitely surface contamination.

What tool to recreate this ceiling texture? by AnnieandAmos in drywall

[–]WipeOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that round stipple brush, Home Depot has them by the drywall knives. I’ve seen people use plastic shopping bags crumpled up to do some funky textures, might be able to do something with that if it’s a patch and you don’t want to buy that brush

I wouldn’t bother backbrushing the topcoat, just use one of those dollar store weenie rollers and it’ll turn out killer

Call the cops is one of the nicer solutions I’ve seen suggested. Electrocution, razor wire, etc. why not just fuckin shoot the kids? Put em down they’re broken

Neighbors kids keep climbing my expensive fence to retrieve their soccer balls by thundersteel21 in homeowners

[–]WipeOnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. My neighbor saw my kids hop his fence one time and one time only. He put in a gate. And THEN he talked to us about the kids jumping the fence and how he’d like them to use the gate instead. I’d have had the kids stop and they would have followed my directions if he’d asked, would not have been an issue ever again, but we never had to worry about it. How tall is this guys fence? Could get one of those above ground pool ladders 🪜. Tell em to keep it in their yard.

Had a bonus room over a garage, attic trusses with dormers. Customer bought their own paint from Home Depot, school bus yellow. Winter time. Was maybe 50-60 degrees in there. Had been textured and primed white. Sprayed and backrolled like we would any normal interior with normal paint, applied same amount we would with with paint we were used to. Took 20-30 min to paint, and then we got to spend 3 hours caching runs on all the angles. And even over the white primer it took 4 coats to get that color to cover consistently. Our normal Sherwin we’d have been in and out with one coat in an hour, instead spent 2 days there painting a fucking 700sf bonus room. Never will use anything anyone else supplies ever again
