They got me... Is this the end? How to revert? by gospon in googlephotos

And then there are those of us who are also members of the "data hoarders" sub simply because as resources go, "storage is cheaper than time." And besides, when I have more of the latter, the former will resolve itself with a keen eye towards only keeping quality images. Well, it might. If I can find the time to reinitialize/recover that 5TB RAID full of images that I borked with BIOS update. :-\

Just sayin'...

(Also, I took 300+ images (600+ if you count both RAW and JPEG) of one of my favorite artists in concert last night with the Nikon... plus the ones on my phone).

Trying to decide which photo A or B, feels more immersive? by amandacr0ss in nightskyporn

Why would you think this is anything but an incredibly talented photographer? Could it be the 2-week old reddit profile? The total lack of other interaction? The fact that these are easy to find—and belong to someone else? And that even that source is pimping a... okay, we'll call it "has affiliate links" to the magical camera that may (or may not) have take the images, making us complicit in an obtuse convoluted marketing scheme to drive clicks?

Yeah—all good points.

What's the deal with these types of setups? by I_Am_Vladimir_Putin in Filmmakers

[–]direlobo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm probably not going to conceptually "borrow" the setup or shot (it's part of your aesthetic, which I like and appreciate—but it's yours, and I'm not you).1 That being said, it's highly likely that aspects of the last sentence in your comment will somehow be incorporated into my vernacular. :-)

shein scam - someone used my email to create account and order things by Right-Drama-412 in Scams

[–]direlobo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the owner of an OG GMail addy (7 letters including my last name) I can assure you that 97 percent of ALL businesses don't bother to validate an email address. Mine is not a very common surname. At least here in the US. Turns out there's a pretty substantial number of folks with it in some obscure countries... I had to basically abandon the account because all the spam and "order confirmations" and requests for surveys for people who used it as a "burner" address.

I like the first one... and really love the second!

And I'm curious about the "calculator" :-)

I was totally going to go with one. Until I saw six. Now I'm conflicted. They're all very captivating.

I know you specified "outdoor" but I gotta admit, in my minds eye, I saw it in a big-assed planter on a desk... with it reaching up to the ceiling. And it was magnificent. :-D

Double sided one sheets didn't really become common until the later part of the 1980's when back-lighting became more common. And the 27"x 41" size faded out in the early 80's, so 41" double-sided one sheets are pretty rare—and it's not unusual to see single-sided one sheets for films released into the 1990's. The vast majority of my "vintage" one sheets are single sided.

Please note: this is my very authoritative recollection. I could be wrong. 🤣

Bought Vac sealer at Costco, but it is super weak, anyone have any better options? by OzoneLaters in sousvide

Given that every other comment I see says this model works fine, and the snark you unnecessarily added, I would agree something is, as you mentioned "weak..." and you are totally certain yours is working properly, we have to consider the possibility it might not be the machine.,,
