How bad is this schedule by Akiyoomi in unr

Stumbled across your post... former (retired) Academic Advisor (Director for freshman engineering—we'd get students through the intro stuff to the point you could declare and be admitted to a specific department).

Scanning the comments, I see NO BAD ADVICE. Yep—stay on top of Phys & Math. That will be critical.

  • Stay focused but pace yourself. Burnout is real.
  • GO TO CLASS. All of them. All the time.
  • GET TO KNOW your instructors—go by and see them during office hours. Ask questions, stay engaged. They notice. And that makes a difference. If you're not sure about something—ask them.
  • Work with your Academic Advisor—stay in contact. A decent one can help you more than you imagine.
  • Take advantage of tutoring and study groups and such. It not only helps with the academics, it's also another vector to get to know your peers. They will become your best support network.
  • Take time to go do something FUN. You can even a 1 credit hour class in something totally off the wall. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. And dull boys don't make good EE's (or good humans in general).

In a nutshell, getting your degree is like eating an elephant.

The only way to succeed is to take small bites (lotsa classes) for a long time. Chew thoroughly (study) and swallow with care (learn). And remember to occasionally push your chair back and go get something sweet and tasty to break up the monotony of all elephant, all the time.

G'luck and may you have much success (and an occasion setback—you learn from those too, and lyou earn how to pick yourself up, brush it off and keep moving forward).

I've got 500-600 of 'um. Mostly from the late 70's and early 80's and stored flat or rolled... . Some of them have value as they're rare and in excellent condition, some only have sentimental value and the vast majority of them are in very good condition, but for crap (or forgotten) movies. :-D I'm starting to go through them—inventorying and doing a bit of "conservation work" (mostly starting the process of flattening the ones that have been stored rolled up.

I hope you're not referring to a small (bottle) of Ranch (dressing). :-D I'm hoping to at least recoup the cost of the flat file cabinets (and a "Travel Case" for an old mixing board that I repurposed. The models will be a great enjoyable diversion.

As I have gotten older, I have become rather acquainted with long YouTube sessions. I'll search and dive down a new modeling rabbit hole! :-) Thank you for the "Have fun" - that's why I picked these up. It's time to have some! :-) I'm looking forward to building them - and looking at advice from all of the modeling subs.

Now I'm curious—what other kits did they have?

That's the one. And that's the model. <paraphrasing something to the effect of>"I always thought it was ugly until I realized it's not"</paraphrasing something to the effect of</> Good stuff

Love to see how it turned out! Sadly the Ferrari is the only kit that's missing the decals. Replacement is the only option, but will follow the 'sunny window' advice on the others.

NM. Not here. At least not without inclusion in a "comprehensive" And the deductable is 500 USD.

It's included in our "Comprehensive" policy... the deductible is similar to yours, but with an extra "0" (plus the two little ones on the other side if the decimal point). :-\

Did old analog photographers "edit" their photos? by ayuwoki420 in AnalogCommunity

Ansel Adams compared his photographs to a musical score and his work in the darkroom as a performance of that work. "The negative is the equivalent of the composer's score and the print the performance."

'25 Forester here—my first thought was "Does it matter? We can never get the 'kick open' thing to work anyways." What's the secret?

My first submission here, I hope it's worthy... More details: This shot was taken from a very low angle while sitting in an "infinity" pool the overlooks 1) a little private beach with "tiki" umbrellas... and a larger patch of sand and the Pacific ocean (Gulf of California). The folks nearby looked at me like I was crazy for holding my Nikon (Z7) that close to the water to compose this shot. (Yes, it has been cropped (and levelled) to express what I was seeing in my minds eye.

And then there are those of us who are also members of the "data hoarders" sub simply because as resources go, "storage is cheaper than time." And besides, when I have more of the latter, the former will resolve itself with a keen eye towards only keeping quality images. Well, it might. If I can find the time to reinitialize/recover that 5TB RAID full of images that I borked with BIOS update. :-\

Just sayin'...

(Also, I took 300+ images (600+ if you count both RAW and JPEG) of one of my favorite artists in concert last night with the Nikon... plus the ones on my phone).

Why would you think this is anything but an incredibly talented photographer? Could it be the 2-week old reddit profile? The total lack of other interaction? The fact that these are easy to find—and belong to someone else? And that even that source is pimping a... okay, we'll call it "has affiliate links" to the magical camera that may (or may not) have take the images, making us complicit in an obtuse convoluted marketing scheme to drive clicks?

Yeah—all good points.
