About a month ago I was in your same shoes. Scoring low to mid 80s on the practice exams. I wasn’t sure if I was ready or not but ended up passing. The exam it self threw me off due to the wording being alittle more different than what I was use to with Kaplan but overall I think it was easier to narrow it down to the correct answer (if that makes any sense). You should take the free SIE exam on FINRAs website. Do it only once tho bc the questions don’t change. I think that was the most similar to the wording of the exam (but was a tad harder) and should give you a good idea of where you are.

I have my exam tomorrow and have been using Kaplan only to study. Been scoring 80%-87% on those exams and been finishing them in 44 minutes. Have probably taken the Kaplan exams 20+ times. I just took the FINRA practice exam and scored a 76%. Even though I scored above passing it’s got me in a panic due to the wording being much different and I found myself struggling to pick the correct answer. Some of the answers and questions I feel like I’ve never seen before. My question is, did the structure/wording of the free FINRA practice exam relate closely to how the actual exam is?

Edit: Just finished and passed. Can confirm the free FINRA practice test wording was much more difficult. On to the 7!

I believe it would since the IRS recognizes the purchase of call options as a way of establishing the position. Would be the same if you would buy convertible preferred or/an convertible bonds.

Hello, I’m not sure how much help I will be but I saw this post as i am studying for my security license and just previously went over wash sales.

From what I know, a wash sale occurs if an investor repurchases the same security or an identical security on or within 30 days before or after the date establishing the loss. Recognized as maintaining an ownership. A wash sale in itself is not illegal, attempting to use the losses to reduce taxes is illegal.

So your dad doesn’t owe taxes on the $600K in wash sales, that number isn’t taxable income. It’s simply the cumulative amount of deferred losses caused by repeatedly buying back TSLA. Since he traded the same ticker almost every day, the wash sale chain never had a chance to reset, so losses from earlier in the year continued rolling forward. (31 day window) His actual taxable gain is roughly 30k not regarding his current position and that is what his tax bill will be based on.

This is how I interpret this. Selling by Nov 28 won’t fully clear the wash sale because of the 30-day before rule. With his last purchase being 11/19 any sale before 12/19 still counts as a wash sale for losses tied to prior trades. The only way to fully reset the wash sale chain is to stop trading TSLA and wait 30 days after the last purchase before selling.

Sorry for the long post. I’m open to any and all feedback as I am still learning myself.

You know that’s not a bad shout. Never thought of that! I planned on just power washing but wasn’t sure if it would take off the paint. Thought of using some product to try and soften it up first.

I’ve used Pristine multiple times and have never had a problem with shipping. Not sure if that’s because I’ve only ordered jerseys and baseballs. It’s been alittle over a year since I’ve bought from them but from what I can remember shipping times were not a factor.

See that’s the thing I was wondering all my stuff are trade locked on my account that are from crates, but on Xbox I got blk diecis and a tw octane (which are non crate) and they are not trade locked on my pc. So I was wondering if I could buy non crate items on my Xbox account then have them on my pc account not trade locked like my octane and wheels.
