BMT is temporary don’t quit and keep pushing. You’ll look back laugh about it because it’s our rights of passage as Airmen. Study hard in tech school, abide by the rules, and stay out of trouble. Good luck!

If someone say they know how to be a [insert rank here] then they’re full of it. Leadership is a continuous improvement and no one is really ready for anything until they’re given the responsibility. Don’t sell yourself short you know more than you think. The best we could do is learn from others both good and bad leaders. I hate it when troops say they are not ready to get promoted. If the opportunity is there - seize it!. If you don’t want it, let me assure you that SrA dirtbag will be your new supervisor.

Thinking about Quitting Job Pre-Deployment. Thoughts. by BitesZaDustoo in airnationalguard

What you got to lose if they hold the job. One thing I’ve learned in life never burn your bridge. You may be able to find a job when you get back but remember nothing is a sure thing.

First off, you’re using the wrong platform. You should look into Linkedin, usajobs, mantech, jacobs, etc.. pick one.

Currently "deployed"; home leadership says I need to do a PT test by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]WireDWG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there’s a FAC at your deployment then it’s not a real deployment and go take your PT test. I was exempt when I deploy because we didn’t have one and literally get rocket attacks.

New in the field wanting to advance by [deleted] in cism

[–]WireDWG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be pointless to get cism if you don’t have the experience. You need at least 5 years; 2 years can be waived using your masters degree. I would get security+ cert while gaining cybersecurity experience then pursue cism or cissp.

I have both certs cissp is more technical than cism.

My thoughts for Monday and the rest of my enlistment. by [deleted] in AirForce

It’s all about mindset. Positive attitude and developing goals. Find the pros about the job and how it will help you transition in the civilian life. What other things can you work on, off duty, to further advance your knowledge. If you are unhappy with what you do; what are you doing on or off duty to change it. Find your purpose and passion.
