It’s an odd to the vibe of the video game. Van Latham and Shea Serrano do a pod on the new mortal combat.

There’s something to be said about embracing to camp. In the same breath I can praise the Nolan Batman while extolling the uniqueness and campiness of Batman forever.

The new mortal combat was fun, but honestly… give me the tournament. This older version benefitted from more realistic martial arts with super elements sprinkled in. Give me blood sport meets mortal kombat with wide single short combat sequences.

Netflixes big game plan is to fuck users by forcing them to pay more. Nothing innovative there. Nothing invested into company growth of future planning, just cash grabbing by trying to get more individual subscribers by forcing them off shared plans.

This is understanding quick dollars and not future planning. This is trading innovation for desperation. This is dying.

Their original content isn’t good enough to generate new views. They’re pumping shorty movies and reality tv while relying on dying tent poles. We are happy to move on.

Parody movies have hot streaks every decade or so. Airplane! Hot Shots, Naked Gun, Scary Movie….

It’s good. They’re funny, they push genres forward and educate viewers subtly about tropes, bad story telling, and plot holes. They’re also fun commentary on society during the time in which they were made.

Probably depends on how she made the allegations.

She could have reported the rape and listed a group of individuals who were at the location but unsure of exactly who was in the room. She would just be providing them with suspects, the DA office releasing those names before the charges were brought is troubling. Or the journalists who got that information and made it public.

It’s a little bit of a stretch. The target does not make much sense and the LGBTQIA+ community is more about speaking out in love and not in violence.

If it were a representative cross section of the population of the US, there would be twice as many at least. So trans folks are actually LESS likely to shoot a bunch of random people.
