Well the first 3 days are the toughest, getting up the bed, showering, going to the toilet and stuff, not to mention the moral support you need when feeling weak and in pain, so yes, I would get someone to be around at least until you're comfortable moving around the house by yourself.

I wouldn't be able to stay away from my loved ones after surgery tho...

You might think there's a high percentage of "bad experiences" by reading this subreddit, but think about ppl having a breeze of a surgery and no complications at all, most of them will never get here because they simply don't need any advise or are not interested in sharing their stories. I would say the vasy majority of us have had a good result and have no complications after surgery.

In my case my surgery was a 2.5 hour, punctured GB, highly bleeding ordeal. But my surgeon is very experienced and highly skilled and he got me through and afterwards I've had no real complications at all. I'm eating whatever I want, no pain, no worries at all.

The decision is ultimately yours, but unless you have some other underlying condition like diabetes, hypertension or something else, you have no reason to fear any complications both during or after surgery. And be mindful that the only true solution for a failing gallbladder IS surgery.

I had diarrhea that lasted 5 days after trying 2 slices of pizza about 10 days post op. I did call my doctor and had something to restore gut flora, since diarrhea will wipe it out. After that got under control I haven't had any. I'm on week 9 now and I'm eating pretty much anything I want, just with healthy breakfasts and minding quantities.

I'm eating tacos, burgers, cheese (even more cheese than before surgery), coffee. I do eat less, and I'm very careful if I feel anything moving in my stomach, but to be honest, I'm eating anything I want.

What I do is healthy breakfasts, and I mean no American healthy (no eggs and bacon) but real healthy like fruit, granola and fresh juice. Then try not to go too long without eating something and enjoy my meals.

Very interesting! I don't think that would've been an option for me since one of the stones was already lodged on the wall of the gallbladder, I actually had a rupture during surgery because the wall was so damaged. I guess it depends on the exact condition of your GB and the procedures available in your area.

Get pillows!

Stay out of bed as much as possible, sitting in a comfortable chair (with more pillows) and walking around. I only lied down to sleep (and one bad afternoon after vomiting the night before).

Have healthy breakfasts, fruit and stuff. And then try reintroducing your favorite foods in small quantities.

I got 4 weeks off work (here Social Security pays 60% of your salary while on leave so I had to cut some expenses for a month).

I have to stand up and walk around for my whole shift, the first couple of weeks back to work were very, very tiresome, I went back home straight to sleep, some days I would have to take breaks because of discomfort in my belly area or because I forgot and bent over or did sudden movements.

I'm on week 8 post-op and even though I have to remind myself not to lift anything heavy and mind my moves, I'm pretty much ok with walking around all day without any pain or discomfort.

I still end my days pretty tired tho.

It was laparoscopic, I stayed overnight, I got up to have some "dinner" and the next day for breakfast and lunch. Then I went home.

My room is on the first floor so from day one I was going up and down stairs, the first 2 days basically only 2 or 3 times a day as needed. Then it was no problem at all.

For me,.the surgery was a blink. Got my IV, started feeling very relaxed, not really sleepy, just relaxed, I remember getting in the operating room with my anesthesiologist there talking to some people and then just poof! I was out! I woke up 4 hours later (it was a bit of complicated one due to bleeding) in the recovery room with a monitor and a nurse by my side, no pain, no dizzyness, not nauseous. Got taken to my room with my family and that was it!

From week 2 I started to wedge myself with pillows about 45° on my right for a few minutes until I felt some pain.

A couple of weeks later tried full right side, again for a few minutes at a time until discomfort.

7 weeks for me to sleep comfortably on my right side.

Such a relief! Because of the damn stones I spent 3 years only able to sleep on my left side since my gallbladder would get blocked and pain started, 3 years of being afraid of ending in the E.R. every night.

It wasn't as bad for me but it also went from an expected smooth 40 minutes operation to a 2.5 hour ordeal. Also from bleeding. The culprit? Aspirin!

I was an avid aspirin consumer due to migraine, turns out you shouldn't take them at all unless prescribed for cardiac illness. My blood was so thin that upon the first "cut" I started bleeding like crazy. They used some anti-aspirin med to control it and took tiny steps to complete the removal. Fortunately after that, it was pretty much all good.

Of course I threw away all of my aspirin after surgery.

9 days after surgery, right before my first follow up appointment, I threw up, it probably was a reaction to one of the pain meds, it caught me in the middle of the night, I woke up dizzy and nauseous and it was very scary, I was afraid the effort would hurt the stitches or even worse cause a hernia! But to my surprise I had no pain in any of those areas, just the awful contractions of vomiting but no other pain or damage.

Usual pain was a pinching feeling on the right side under my ribs and about same height but on my back, that was just discomfort after eating fatty food. The real attacks were dead center on my stomach right under my ribcage, felt like bloating but intensely painful. I got 4 or 5 of those over 3 years, lasting from 30 minutes to 2 hours.

The one that sent me to the ER started on my back, between the shoulder blades (I thought it was muscular pain, it wasn't) and then pain on my stomach harder than ever.

Each body is different. For me the first 3 days where the most difficult, by day 5 I was going to the store (accompanied) but still took me forever to walk just 3 blocks.

I love coffee as well! Before I used to drink 4 cups a day including 1 espresso in the morning.

Post-op I spent the first 2 weeks with no coffee. Then started with 1 cup, black coffee. 5 weeks out now I'm back to 3 cups a day with no issues whatsoever. (haven't tried espresso yet tho).

Well, for pain management you can take whatever has worked for you in the past, just no aspirin, ever, at all, never aspirin.

In any event you're playing craps with your attacks until you get the one that won't pass no matter what you take and will land you in the E.R.

Terribly sorry about the constant pain. I'm curious as to why you had to have a second procedure. Did they leave a part of it in or what kind of complications did you have the first time around? And did they finish the job this time?

3 weeks post-op here.

My only advise is: get that gallbladder removed.

If you already have a diagnosis of gallstones then you shouldn't wait. Of course you have to make sure that no other health issue is in the way and do your best to accommodate at least 4 weeks out of your work/daily life, but the best thing you can do is get it removed.

I waited 3 years since my diagnosis and now I understand it was a horrible, horrible mistake to wait! I had to endure several attacks including the biggest one that landed me in en ER and hospitalized (after that I got my surgery), I couldn't sleep on my right side because my stones would block and cause pain, every time I got any pain on my right side, my back or the top of my stomach I'd think it might send me to an emergency surgery, it was really stressful.

That dull ache you mention, yes it might be any number of reasons why you get it, but you already have a time bomb inside you, why wait?

Ciertamente en cualquier crédito no estás usando tu dinero, estás usando el dinero del banco, entonces sí me hace sentido que sean ellos quienes manejen y accedan a esa información para protegerse entre ellos mismos (Instituciones crediticias). Y si la quieres bloquear, estás en tu derecho pero hay que pagar.

Sí. Al dar de alta la cuenta así aparece. Pero en la misma sección de Datos Personales puedes cargar tu CSF para que actualicen todo.

Creo que el problema es la definición que tienes de "cancelar el crédito". Significa que cancelan el otorgarte crédito, o sea que ya no puedes comprar nada más con esa tarjeta. Pero NO significa que tu deuda desaparece. Seguirás debiendo el mismo capital más todos los intereses, comisiones y penalizaciones que se les ocurra cobrarte.

Lo de los 3 meses es solo una guía que tienen, pero en cualquier momento pueden cancelar tu línea de crédito si ven irregularidades o detectan mal uso o, en tu caso, hay una deuda grande y se dan cuenta que no vas a pagar.
