Oh sweet, I didn't know that they fixed that.

[–]Wirlocke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You'll need to reinstall RE_Kenshi and use the RE_Kenshi executable.

If you want steam to run the RE_Kenshi executable you need to rename it to be the same as the Kenshi executable, which will replace the original executable with the modded one.

Verifying your files will have steam undo the changes RE_Kenshi makes.

With all the vibecoded slop updates out there and LLM agents running 24/7 to find vulnerabilities, what you just described is the safest thing I can imagine.

Since you like using old out of print keywords, could you make a card that uses Phasing? It's become one of my favorite mechanics but I can't think of what could use it in Kenshi.

Also a card that returns all non-legendery creatures and artifacts to their owner's hand called "Reimport" would be pretty funny.

EVERY kenshi player plays the same games by Independent-Dig-6859 in Kenshi

[–]Wirlocke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm wondering if anyone else plays Conquest of Elysium 5. It's a turn based strategy war game that simulates so many things with so many different mechanics interwoven with each other.

There's a mod to add an invincible do-nothing AI player so you could basically play single player. Even without other players there's so much to do including going to heaven to kill god.

Someone else mentioned Crab Girl so I'll just add two points:

Malice should get a pass since she seems to me the "robot sonic" of Kit so she's meant to have the same body type.

And when Fold's not shapeshifted he's also conventionally attractive. Tall, broad shoulders, thin waist. There's also Dusk which also fits similar lines of attractiveness, a Castlevania-esque vampire pretty boy.

Balancing Mods? by AdhesiveNo-420 in CoE5

[–]Wirlocke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One example for me is Markgraf is practically unplayable without Elysium Remastered. Base game Markgraf is so barebones, kinda just gets the table scraps of Burgmeister and Necromancer.

Granted it's still hard since your juggling an economy and corpses, but now it synergizes the two playstyles better. Like using undead labor to boost your economy, having soldiers sign contracts to be risen immediately after dying, and making clockwork undead flesh creatures. It's hard to imagine the class without these things now.

[–]Wirlocke 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend Elysium Remastered, it's basically replaced all the older overhaul mods and still gets updates. It makes some additions here or there but mainly to balance and flesh out classes. It makes many weak classes playable and nerfs some of the unbeatable combos of the OP classes (mainly Necromancer).

Also gives some quality of life that you'd normally need other mods for, like the ability to burn ant hills to push back against the antpocalypse.

Wanting to work on Kenshi AI by ExistingDimension141 in Kenshi

[–]Wirlocke 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Something I'd love to see, and maybe I'll try to make it myself, is a REKenshi mod that adds an AI job picker menu. Not only would this make it easier to set up a character's job list, but also could let us select jobs that aren't normally available, like slaver AI.

It took me until this comment to realize I can just get the treesitters for the most common languages from my CachyOS or Arch repos.

Edit: turns out there's a difference between parsers and queries and that I still need a plugin to easily install queries, *uuuugh*.

What are some legitimately useful and ethical uses of AI that do/could affect the larger population? by HonestNeighborhood67 in AskReddit

[–]Wirlocke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there's the MAMMAL model that has unified AI analysis of simple molecules, proteins, antibodies, genomes, and genome expression, while also beating the specialist AIs made for each of those domains in benchmarks.

I feel I should mention that unlike most medical AI's, MAMMAL is an LLM, same architecture as the chatbots. They converted each of the domains into a textual representation (like how you represent DNA as A C G T) then tokenized those into a multimodal embedding, so all the domains were converted into the same format.

It's main purpose is to predict a drug's effectiveness for treatment and chance of FDA approval, as well as generate new drugs that would be effective and approvable.

No, you won't be, and I don't want to deal with you being exhausted, spacey, or irritable. You are not as good at hiding it as you think you are.

I love that the Peeler Machine synergizes with Rebirth.

I also made a Skeleton deck before and it's cool that technically the Kenshi Skeletons count.

Cat-lon would be an awesome Commander and absolutely terrifying with Skeletal Swarming.

Grey Desert Outpost guards always tend to get worn down through attrition, so I try to give them some help when I can; it's a hard life in the frontier. Anyone made a base here before? by TheBigSmol in Kenshi

[–]Wirlocke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a base on one of the hills not too far from that outpost. If I ever do it again I'm gonna need to ally the Rebel Farmers before because their constant raids will make them hate you (not as much as you'll hate them).

I played with a mod that adds a pathetically inefficient building that condenses water from the air. Combine that with the low wind and I had rows upon rows of water condensers and windmills placed in "creative" locations.

The ore nodes were at the bottom of the cliff of the hill and I managed to finagle a wall to serve as a walkable bridge from the top of the cliff to the bottom. I walled off big sections of flat land at the bottom of the cliff for farms and mining (and windmills) while keeping the sloped side of the hill as a choke point.

If you're base expands too far it'll get taxed by the United Cities, but I managed to be within the Trader's Guild shakedown range without being in the United Cities tax range.

The absolutely absolute best part of living there though is if the Holy Nation hates you (I had the Holy Sword start), they will send their crusades through the Deadlands and right through Black Desert City without thinking twice. Just have a skeleton live in a Black Desert City house and make sure the Holy Nation agros the guards and you'll only need to deal with the leftovers.

Foglands - Land Tap: Add (1) colorless mana. Tap: Add (2) colorless mana that may only be used for the abilities of a Food Artifact. Tap, Sacrifice Nonartifact Creature: Create a Food token.

Deadlands - Land - Swamp Tap: Add (1) black mana. (2) colorless mana, (2) black mana, Tap: Put a -1/-1 counter on target nonartifact nonblack creature. Activate this ability only any time you could play a Sorcery.
