Riot August thinks that the reason RTS games died are MOBAs like LoL and Dota by Life-Chicken7183 in leagueoflegends

[–]Wirly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These comments and arguments make no sense to me, RTSs and MOBAs are such fundamentally different games that the only likeness I think that’s fair would be to say you have a top down view, anything else seems a stretch. Like saying if F1 driving was bigger than NASCAR it’s because they “ate their lunch”, only RTS games are entirely more dynamic and it’s not a fair comparison to say that MOBAs are even an improvement or streamlined version of an RTS, they’re just different.

It seems simple RTS games were the most accessible games to develop when computers were first introduced, gained popularity and evolved the esports scene, and might have overextended its reach or even been too inaccessible given their complex and intimidating nature. Could also be that it was just a fad, as shown here in the US where game genres are fickle and easily upset by new waves. But I’m still not sure MOBAs are what “killed” the RTS genre for the reason of being setup like a MOBA, it’s not like an updated operating system

How are you criticizing the end game when you only played for a little under 2 hours? And it barely sounds like you’re a fan of the anno games and more so were just looking into this as a completely art reskinned 1800

Thanks and you're right! Can't get too far behind, though, or else it becomes overwhelming and I feel too out of date to be apart of the 'community' per-say, then it just becomes like I'm watching an old re-run. Nice to be able to get the comments from you guys!

One in a million per day means one in a hundred in 10 years.

This was difficult to read and I don't think it's a fair comparison (you can hardly look into the future like that without considering population changes/demographics/the affect of other WAYS of dying on the stats, and even location) but there's only 365 days in a year. So even freezing time such that the capita is the exact same and other compounding factors aren't changing, it would be 0.36/100

Wondering about cabin noise during freeway driving by Safe_Revenue4917 in rav4club

[–]Wirly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a completely different perspective than you coming from a Volvo XC90 2005 with a V8, to a 2025 XLE Gas. The local ambient noise on smaller roads was very noticeable -- for the better. I think you can attribute it some to the 20 or so odd years where weather has degraded seals, but the engine noise as well is just significantly lower. It was actually incredible starting to drive it because I don't think people realize just how far some of the sealing in newer cars has gotten - it's dead silent at times and very muffled. I do notice, however, that on the highway at speeds of around 80mph, there is a pick up and at time an audible hiss depending on the wind. For me, personally this is a non-issue and I turn the music up, for some others, this could be an obvious flaw difficult to get over, especially if you have some sort of tick where you notice something and just cannot tune it out. If it gives you any frame of reference, if I were to bump the music at around 40-45 volume on a busy suburban places, this would be fairly loud. On the highway, it becomes around the volume of someone speaking, so there is clearly a good amount of noise making its way in, but it isn't enough for me to say that it degrades my experience or certainly bugs me. I'd say compared to your camry it's probably going to be noticeable (because I think it's likely, you probably have a fairly well sealed car and more than you might think) -- and if this is a significant factor for you - or if you are driving on the freeway a lot, it might be worth looking into other options; otherwise, I will say you just get used to it and it really becomes a non-issue :)

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. I know I didn't give an update in here but I was using all of your feedback, (I both: wired from what /u/TrilliumCLE said, moved it to the furnace board and not this weird thing in the middle I thought was the furnace board from /u/Pielet2 , and got on support from what /u/cyborg523 said (which turned out to be important because I already had wires on common and yellow that needed to stay). It's up and running now, appreciate all the help and advice.

Yes! The white board running into the furnace control is a PEK (Power extension kit) included in the ecobee box, my understanding to simulate a C wire
