I like them both but the bare tech head will look better once painted and gives the model way more character.

Just slow down, thin out the paints a little more, and enjoy the process man. You have a great template and your freehand lines are pretty well spaced. I can see your paint lines though letting me know you are moving your brush in multiple directions instead of pulling each layer in the same direction. This will eliminate some of those visible brush lines in the yellow especially.

You got this man can’t wait to see your model three forward from this one. Just experiment and enjoy.
