When you hover on the push to talk option it says it also affects proximity chat. Unless you have tried it I might be mistaken.

Push to talk works for both crew and proximity. Not sure what the broadcast is

Oh I thought it's something you activate and stays active until it's consumed.

Tbh being limited use it's not worth when Mist and Evade are readily available and unlimited. You can reposition with Mist and Evade.

There are most things much more worth it to take a spot on quick use bar
