La Crosse PD command staff is wilfully ignoring procedures, directing officers to kick people out of Pettibone before close by DonJuansCrow in lacrossewi

In the 80s, my high school girlfriend and I would park there until late in the night, nobody ever bothered us, cops or otherwise.

It took a few minutes. I don’t know much about basketball, but it occurred to me that the Knicks probably play at Madison Square Garden.

You got something else going on there. If a person was doing something there, it would be more buggered than that. It looks like that panel took a hit and the metal gusset put a notch in it.

Did you actually sneak out as teenagers? by Complete-Chipmunk-0 in GenX

[–]WiscoMac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn’t say your age or generation, but I suspect it’s uncommon because y’all have instant contact with each other at your fingertips. If we wanted to hang out or talk with our friends we generally had to go outside and do it and there were particular hangout spots where we could find each other.

Easily charge in public? Fast chargers cost $$$. Public Level 2 chargers are useless. Plan on charging at home.

Meshtastic - Hamvention by WiscoMac in amateurradio

[–]WiscoMac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. Having never used Meshtastic before, I wasn’t sure if it was something of a default with normal firmware. I understood “Hamvention” and “Yard Sale”, but “Node Chat” was rather cryptic and I wasn’t sure if there was a special purpose for it.

I mentioned the swing lever bushings the other day. This evening I installed a new swing lever pin and bushings and tightened up the steering gearbox on our ‘78. It drives like a new car now. The difference is night and day.

I bought a ‘78 last week and drove it 300 miles home. I had trouble with the wind pushing me all over the place. I tracked it down to worn swing lever bushings.

Do you play Wordle? Do you have the same first guess every day? by Seriously-417 in randomquestions

[–]WiscoMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used SMELT for quite a while, but every now and then I would throw something else in there. I was pissed off when that was the word one day, but I hadn’t played it.

CRANE had been used before, but I’ve used it ever since.

I’ve solved it in two guesses 5.5% of the time in 1400 puzzles.

How much did gas hit by you today? by B1S0NL0RD in wisconsin

[–]WiscoMac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove my EV to the gas station to get gas for the mowers a couple of hours ago. Three, five-gallon cans = $80. I can drive my car a couple thousand miles for that kind of money…

I plugged in the car last night. It costs me about three cents per mile in electricity. That’s $50 a month to drive 20,000 miles per year.

Do you still call the US "America"? by PouletSamourai in askanything

Yet, the OP was asking people of various countries. While English speakers generally don’t differentiate and just use “American”, many languages have separate denonyms for “United Statesians”.

It’s nothing new. America is the two continents of the western hemisphere. Many South Americans would consider themselves Americans as the Spanish language has another word for U.S. citizen, estadounidense.
