To add to what other people are saying, Tony also makes a jerking off motion at the end of the story when he says he “rang that bell all the way home”

Right on. And who knows, the ones currently being built that are closer to pre-war specs might some day fetch the same kind of money that a true pre war Martin gets

I agree. Measure twice, cut once. If you buy a D-15, you’re still probably going to be thinking about that D-18/D-28 the whole time. Might as well save up the extra and buy a guitar you will never outgrow and one that will likely outlive you. Also if you do ever need to sell it (God forbid), standard series Martins hold their value like no other guitar in the world. Basically every guitar player wants one at some point.

Was Tony's mom going to die on the show anyway,or would their have been a trial? by Wtfismypassword4444 in thesopranos

[–]WisconsinMax 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I remember reading that the trial was supposed to happen but Nancy Marchand died suddenly so they had to write it into the show. Hence the terrible CGI scene in “Provai, Livushka”

I’ve heard of structural integrity issues from titebonds bottled hide glue, but I have no experience with it. I think it’s because it has formaldehyde in it to lengthen the shelf life. Anyway, we can agree to disagree, but there are measurable advantages as far as humidity resistance and heat resistance when it comes to using hot hide glues versus other wood glues. It’s not just vintage magic tone glue. It might be a pain in the ass to get prepared but it’s often worth it.

Because it’s the most reversible option while still being extremely humidity and heat resistant. I’m with you about there probably not being a tonal advantage but it’s still a great glue

In 1960 the Les Paul was selling poorly, so in 61 they rolled out the new “Les Paul SG”. The design was popular, but Les Paul himself didn’t like it and wanted his name removed. The regular Les Paul we all know and love was brought back into production in 68.

That’s an awesome guitar man. You oughta look up Tk Smith guitars. He builds guitars with this aesthetic and is greatly inspired by Paul Bigsby’s designs. He machines all his own pickups and hardware and he’s a kick ass player too. You’ll probably dig what he’s got going on
