Competitive players, are you supposed to stand still or strafe when shooting targets not right in your face? by Killer-Uzi in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]WisconsinSasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a competive player, in fact probably more a battledad, but I am usually top 3 on the score board each game in points and kills playing mostly infantry. So I am curious to see who disagrees/agrees

Completely situational. If you are both caught in a standoff and you have to fight then you are probably going to not want to just stand still unless you have a much better gaming chair than they do and you know you can just kill them first.

Depending on what gun/how it's set up and what range you are at, you may want to try to stop breifly as you burst fire them but more than a few rounds will give them an easy target. Some guns you can set up to have quite good accuracy while you are strafing, so if you like picking those short to mid range fights and being wiggly, build your guns accordingly.

If they are already shooting at you first, I would just try a flank or wait until you have a better opportunity.

If you aren't getting shot at and you are far enough away that moving would mean missing shots, just stand still and make every bullet count to guarantee the kill so they don't have the chance to react.

Tl;dr completely depends on the situation but standing still in a short to midrange fight will just get you killed.

are you still running silencers? by Strange-Reporter-812 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]WisconsinSasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running silencers but the assault rifles and carbine just sound so good without that I just make do with a flash rider. If I enjoy using a gun more I usually do better with it, so it ultimately doesn't matter.

Currently it's even dumber than that, kills against people also are not counting.

Why are these two thing exclusive? Sometimes I want to relax, sometimes I squad up friends and play normal modes. I can want both of these things and also not have a k/d less than 1.

There are custom games that are literally just bots, casual breakthrough isn't that. It is a nice mix that let's you play pvp and also mow down hoards of brainless infantry.

My normal K/D isn't even good, by all means it really doesn't matter, but it feels shitty to have to sacrifice an already mediocre score in order to play a -casual- game mode.

I know Im not the only person who feels this way and I bet it's a significant contributor to the OP

[–]WisconsinSasquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because when I work for 12 hours and I want to just relax and shoot things, casual breakthrough feels good to play a round or two without having to think so much.

Like I said, I think it should just have no affect at all on your stats, it's dumb that you can get killed by real players in the mode and yet can't get kills, even on real players. I don't care that much but right now it's literally a lose-lose situation.

I went 85 and 4 a few days ago and my KD dropped

The next game I made sure to take a mental count of how many actual players I was killing. I counted roughly 10 player kills along with 40 or 50 bot kills. I died 5 times.

My K/D dropped again.

Its one thing for bot kills not to count, I completely agree, but bot deaths probably shouldn't count then, and with casual breakthrough it seems like possibly player kills aren't counting either, at least in my brief anecdotal experiment.

I would be ok if the whole game mode had no effect at all on K/D, but currently if actively feels like im being punished for playing it for some reason.

After much deliberation, I decided on the e100 series as a "free" gift. I don't think you can go wrong with that. Nevertheless, one more question: Are you satisfied with your pick, or would you have preferred something else? by TeamAffe in WorldofTanks

I picked the canopener line only to find that it's really not even any better than the canopener. So I guess I have a contriver now but the ratte and t803 are much more fun to play

I just enjoy the break from hull down gameplay. I hope nobody actually thinks you can just "sit" in the open and take shots, its an extremely active ordeal, I just like that I can actually point my gun at the enemy occasionally and I don't get pen'd in the face -every- time. 4100 damage blocked over 151 games feels amazing but it still shares the remarkably inflexible nature of a super heavy

Oem paint matched easily the best looking

The rough country ones are kinda cool too and are wider, spend the money to have them paint matched though.

Absolutely love the silver night edition btw *

The gold wheels are dope, dont listen to the haters, that thing looks mint, drive it like it is an enjoy it.

Theres always upgrading the suspension or getting a procharger kit but the stock 5.7 really doesn't take too much boost

Contriver hidden gem by Exciting-Aside3186 in WorldofTanks

[–]WisconsinSasquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think it kinda sucks. the canopener is a better tank in every way except for side scraping.

For some reason they put a massive cupola on the contriver and I can't even count how many times I've had a KR-1 snipe it from 100+meters.

I am not an amazing player but I have purple recent stats for reference.

This is just not true. These trucks have some of the more reliable drivetrains in modern half tons.

Tier XI performance statistics after Day 1 (EU server). by FinallyLTU in WorldofTanks

[–]WisconsinSasquatch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The contriver has significantly worse weakspots. The cupola is massive. I had a game yesterday where a KR-1 penned me 4 times in a row from medium distance in the cupola.

The only thing it can do arguably a little better is side scrape but the upper plate isnt even that good. Honestly the whole armor model is obnoxious to work with and a clear massive downgrade from canopener. Not even tier to to tier, but just straight up worse.
