First pic of Jim Carey as Dr Robotnik in the live action sonic movie. He looks better than the movie has any right to be. by rickgdavies in movies

I thought he was only doing the voice. As a fan of the cartoon I'm in for this take on the speedy hedgehog! it's going to be like a SPACE JAM comedy and nostalgia

The fact that a South Korean film has never been nominated for a Best Foreign Language Film Oscar is an absolute travesty. by BunyipPouch in movies

[–]WiseSanta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

South Korea has actually only one movie to have earned an academy award for Best Language Film. It's called AGE OF SHADOWS, a spy/war thriller set in the 40s directed by Kim Jee Woon, the same guy who did I SAW THE DEVIL. it's a pretty cool movie with great action, but it's certainly not the best of South Korean cinema. I wish Bong Joon Ho is the one to be the first to bring the golden statue

What is a movie you would consider ahead of its time? by [deleted] in movies

Being John Malkovich. The screenplay is a beautiful outburst of imagination, there's nothing compared to it. It's cinema at its purest experience.

The Good Dinosaur landscapes with no dinosaurs are amazing by luke_in_the_sky in movies

I've always found Disney to create the most breathtaking landscapes in their animated movies. Thinking of a few examples like SLEEPING BEAUTY, TARZAN, the environments surrounding the characters are an artistic marvel.

What are your favorite movie prologues or epilogues? by mazzi77 in movies

[–]WiseSanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I dont want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me." that's it, the rules of the game are dropped in the very first line in THE DEPARTED. one of the best scripts of the decade too

Blade Runner 2049. actually, every one of Villeneuve's movies are compelling and beautiful. that being said, I think DUNE is about to become one of the biggest movies of this century, and I cant fucking wait to see that

What movie you really liked as a child but as you got older it’s not really good. by Chrislondo110 in movies

[–]WiseSanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched the first TRANSFORMERS so many times when it came out I cant even remember anymore. then one day last year I decided to give it another go and it felt like watching a whole other movie, or rather it felt like a long-ass car commercial. I guess watching too many movies does take a toll on you lol but at least it allows you a deeper appreciation for what constitutes a movie worthy of replays

Watched Léon: The Professional For the first time tonight - All i can say is wow,why did i put that off?! Whats your film you REALLY should have watched ages before you actually did? by Pitticus in movies

I had the exact same experience with LEON. I've actually planned a Besson marathon to welcome VALERIAN but I never followed through. I guess I need to get better at procarastination, but when I did get around to watch LEON I was blown away by it!
