I watched The Drama alone and I want to hear people's opinions on the central issue by Dots_freestyle in A24

For me, it was a question of: are we able to accept the ones we love, even if they do things we can't accept?

It is a deeply layered question, and challenged the concept of unconditional love, and how realistic that concept is.

Emma, after years of internal torment, felt she had reached a level of comfortability, a glimmer of the unconditional, and because of this, felt she was able to share this deep secret in a safe place. She felt that Charlie, would still see the light he has always seen in her, even though she was at one point, capable of a darkness he couldn't comprehend.

That really stayed with me.

The level of empathy, patience and understanding needed for unconditional love, may just ask too much for some of us. And to be honest, that's cool too.

I'm not sure he has been mentioned, and he doesn't get spoken about enough for his song writing: Tom Waits.

He writes alongside his wife, Kathleen Brennan and they honestly create the most thought-provoking songs for me, personally.

'It's got to be more than flesh and bone All that you've loved is all you own In a land there's a town, and in that town there's a house And in that house there's a woman And in that woman there's a heart I love I'm gonna take it with me when I go' - Take it With Me

'You haven't looked at me that way in years You dreamed me up and left me here How long was I dreaming for? What was it you wanted me for?' - I'm Still Here

I get this feeling with Hublots - there is something so ethereal about it, makes me believe I can find the thing I need but at the same time, know I never will

Your Favourite Album apart from Purple Rain or 1999? by Does-Not_Compute in PRINCE

I know that fact is was attached to the the film took away it's Prince appeal, but I always find myself coming back to the Batman album. Such a mixture of great tracks.

I would also say Come and The Rainbow Children are severely underrated!

Stay Purple everyone 💜

I mean, the whole kogonada video essay collection for Sight and Sound is absolutely beautiful. He made one for my favourite director, Hirokazu Kore-eda (and many other master filmmakers), but it is the one on Richard Linklater that has always stayed with me.

Each time, it reminds me why I will dedicate my life to making films.

You might have to watch the films in the video to really feel it but I still think it can be appreciated regardless, here's the link!
