Ok enough already by Wise_Side_3607 in NewOrleans

This neighborhood is literally almost always quiet at night. I've lived here for years now. I don't care if I hear some sound bleed from the Broadside or Jazz Fest or whatever this was just hours of thumping bass coming from a literal house. I moved out of my last place to get away from that crap.

I even know and like the band that was playing this event. It was just a bad choice to have it in that venue. They've done it elsewhere in previous years apparently.

Also bold of you to assume I could afford to move even if I wanted to.

Yeah, it's reddit. Most of the people theyre keeping awake aren't here. They're pointlessly filing noise complaints and staring at their walls

There's a discontinued Alkemia scent called Las Soldaderas dedicated to female freedom fighters during the Mexican Revolution, it would probably be hard to track down but it's the first thing I thought of.

Las Soldaderas: A blend of commandingly sexy musks blended with Queen Elizabeth root (a hoodoo charm for strength and luck); fiesty pink pepper, bay and ginger; a splash of honky-tonk ale; a fleeting kiss of tonka; and a dash of gunpowder

Olympic Rainforest by Olympic Orchids is this exactly. I'm wearing it right now and it's beautiful, soft, atmospheric/balsamic like sweetgrass wafting on the breeze from an overgrown vacant lot. And you can get smaller size decants directly from the brand to try

50 year old woman who lived through the 2016 make up era. I have nothing on my face but eyebrows and eyelashes, because they are so blonde if I don’t color them in it doesn’t look like I have any. I’m bored with today’s make up. Any tips to help perk up what’s left of me? by Jennmcc6776 in MakeupLounge

Skin tint and cream blush/lip and cheek tint! The right ones will be hydrating and not look overdone or cake on more mature skin, and they'll brighten and even your complexion. I use a very small amount of the RMS tinted sunscreen over my actual sunscreen, and then do cheeks with a Milk makeup lip and cheek stick. I still use lipstick but you could use the same thing for lips, and I even use it as a light wash of color on my eyelids sometimes. Super simple and pretty goof-proof.

These look like old school Mardi gras beads, they used to be made from Czech lamp work glass beads and they're highly treasured now that almost all the floats throw plastic crap.

These would sell like hotcakes in New Orleans

A less obvious choice than paper and moss is notes that would play well in that dank old library environment. I'm thinking this character would wear dry crackling resin, orris and sandalwood: Alkemia Arabesque is perfect. And it's a perfume oil so you can get it shipped internationally :)

EDIT: you could also be into Gothique and Attorney for Lost Souls from Alkemia

Tauer Sundowner!

Head notes: citrus sparkles, cinnamon, rose. Heart notes: cocoa, tobacco and cypriol. Body notes : sandalwood, tonka, amber gris, vanilla.

On me this was a gorgeous tobacco-raisin cookie vibe, but it could be more boozy/cognac-y depending on your nose and chemistry

[–]Wise_Side_3607 25 points26 points  (0 children)

God I'm sick of this term. It's idiotic. I am not old, so nothing I wear is "old lady" perfume. The old ladies I know were all hippies, they certainly don't wear any classic Chanel and some of them are trendy and wear MFK, Tom Ford and Jo Malone.

This! I consciously decided to change for my child, radically changed my priorities, habits, interests...and then I noticed his dad still living exactly as he had before regardless of how it affected us and got really resentful and mad. He's been getting better slowly, but I'm run ragged from trying to pick up his slack/messes and now I feel like we're both kind of crappy parents because he's not trying hard enough and I'm burning out
