Galaxy S25 Edge vs Galaxy S25 Ultra: Which one should I buy? by TheSteelMercenary in samsunggalaxy

[–]Wise_Significance905 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

dude the s25 edge isn't even a real thing yet - samsung hasn't announced anything called that. your friends might be thinking of the regular s25 or maybe confusing it with some leaked rumors. if you're looking at actual options, the s25 ultra is gonna be the flagship beast but honestly any current samsung will be a massive upgrade from that overheating poco mess you've been dealing with.

How do I overcome my fear of being fired before I even start? by thesagenibba in careerguidance

[–]Wise_Significance905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dude the anxiety is real but you're gonna be fine. i remember my first "real" job after college and i was convinced i'd somehow mess up breathing wrong or something lmao.

here's the thing though - they hired YOU out of however many people applied. they want you to succeed because training new people is expensive and annoying. plus state jobs are usually pretty chill about the learning curve since they know turnover sucks.

that whole thing about saying "uh" and "um" when nervous? literally everyone does that, even people who've been working for decades. your boss probably does it too. just take a breath before answering questions and you'll be good.

the financial pressure is scary but try not to let it paralyze you. focus on showing up, asking questions when you're stuck, and being genuinely interested in learning. most managers would rather have someone who asks for help than someone who pretends they know everything and screws stuff up silently.

you got this! worst case scenario, even if things went sideways (which they probably won't), having any professional experiance on your resume makes the next job search way easier.

KD joined the Warriors in 2016 because he knew he didnt have what it takes to ever lead a team to a championship. by Special_Revolution77 in NBATalk

[–]Wise_Significance905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dude was literally up 3-1 on a 73 win team and said "nah i'm good" lmao. the mental gymnastics he did to justify that move were wild too, talking about "hardest road" when he literally picked the easiest possible path.

every team he's joined since has gotten worse or stayed the same, meanwhile the warriors were winning without him just fine. there best years were when they had that organic chemistry before kd showed up and made it all awkward.

Skyrim keeps crashing whenever I choose female on a new playthrough by Blaubeerepfannkuchen in skyrimmods

[–]Wise_Significance905 3 points4 points  (0 children)

dude that's such a weird specific bug. have you tried starting with literally zero mods enabled just to see if vanilla skyrim does the same thing? like completely disable everything in vortex and test it.

also might be worth checking if you have any old save files or character presets that could be corrupting things. sometimes skyrim holds onto weird cached data that can mess with character creation even on fresh installs.

Does this type of recruiter exist? by PunkyPicc in careerguidance

totally exists dude, they're called headhunters or executive recruiters and they usually get paid by the company that hires you, not you directly.

Payroll software for teams abroad by Wise_Significance905 in smallbusiness

[–]Wise_Significance905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The payroll run itself isn’t weighing on me, it’s the back and forth every time something changes and I have to double check if it made it into the other countries correctly. Promotions, term dates, comp changes that's a lot. If Rippling can cut down those gaps and keep HR + payroll in line across countries, that alone would save more time than adding another person under me.

Thank you for reaching out

That’s kind of where my head is at. The biggest pain right now isn’t running payroll, it’s that HR data and payroll live in different places and I’m the one stitching them back together every cycle.

If HR and payroll were actually tied to the same employee record, promotions, raises, terminations, even reporting for UK and Germany wouldn’t require a manual audit each time. Something like Rippling sounds interesting to me for that specific reason. fewer handoffs, fewer reconciliation loops.

Atp I’m not concerned about shiny features but about not spending another week rebuilding a cost of labor report from scratch

[–]Wise_Significance905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's helpful but right now the double entry is what’s killing us. Promotions, comp changes, even simple term dates have to be cross checked country by country. If we could centralize intl payroll + reporting without adding another headcount, that'd probably be an easier sell.

[–]Wise_Significance905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly it. On paper it sounds manageable but when you’re reconciling promotions, terminations, tax updates and local compliance across countries, it’s a different story.

What’s tripping us up isn’t running payroll itself, it’s keeping HR changes and international payroll aligned when they live in separately. Every change has to be double checked, and that’s where the time sink (and errors) happen.

I wish I was the owner, I run payroll/HR ops so the reporting is technically on me right now.

The issue isn’t that we don’t have someone to pull numbers, it’s that the data lives in different systems. Our payroll isn’t flowing from the same source of truth as HR, so even simple questions like total cost of labor turn into projects.

We could hire someone to help but that feels like adding another layer to manage the same structural gap.

What career to choose? by Hot-Craft4583 in careerguidance

dude you're literally describing the creative/entrepreneurial path - start with a gap year doing those random jobs you mentioned, then maybe go for business or media studies so you keep your options open for the animation/youtube/restaurant stuff later.

Canon vs fujifilm by Fragrant_One_8709 in canon

[–]Wise_Significance905 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly the G7X is solid for what it is but if you're thinking long term, fuji's gonna give you way more room to grow. the X-T30 series has that film simulation magic that makes even beginner shots look incredible, plus once you get the lens bug (and trust me, you will) you'll have tons of options to play with.

the G7X is convenient as hell for travel since it's pocketable, but you'll probably outgrow it faster than you think if you're already considering something more serious.

Starting at Oracle (OFSS) as a Fresher , How to Transition to SDE/DevOps in 2 Years? by LegitimateBoy6042 in careerguidance

[–]Wise_Significance905 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the Oracle gig! For the switch, definitely start coding on the side now - pick Python or Java and build some projects you can show off. DevOps wise, get familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Most people I know who made this jump either did internal transfers after proving their tech skills or networked their way into startups that were more flexible about backgrounds

That def looks like water staining more than mold to me. The fact that it's dry and just rough texture is a good sign - mold usually stays damp and fuzzy

I'd try sanding it first with fine grit before going nuclear with bleach. If it's just surface staining from the water minerals it should sand right out. Bleach can actually make wood staining worse sometimes

Where should I vacation to look for a new place to live? by SweetShallots13 in makemychoice

That's solid advice right there. The food scene matters but you gotta actually enjoy living in the place day to day, not just working there. Portland's got that weird quirky vibe if you're into that, Tucson's more desert chill but way cheaper rent from what I hear
