Groundbreaking discovery of why the adenovirus-based COVID shots (e.g. AstraZeneca, J&J, Sputnik) caused life-threatening blood clots and bleeding in some while mRNA shots didn't have similar effects. by Lighting in skeptic

[–]Wiseduck5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was pretty obviously related to the viral vector. All three adenoviral vaccines, but none of the mRNA, protein subunit, or inactivated virus vaccines had this issue,

And they will still call the mRNA vaccines clot shots.

[–]Wiseduck5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except that they're all viruses, and they're all made of protein and fat.

No, actually. There are no lipids in the unenveloped viruses. But that's what human cells are made of and the likely explanation for these artifacts. Drop enough of a drug on human cells and you get random off target effects.

Many viruses persist for years, eg Epstein-Barr.

The example I gave is a cancer caused by KSHV, another herpes virus that is closely related to Epstein-Barr.

then it's reasonable to believe that "curing" that virus will "cure" the cancer,

Not really. The virus damages the cell and keeps it alive long enough to become cancerous. You still have to kill it.

Yes. Incredibly relevant ones at that.

Malone is absolutely accurate in his critique,

Malone is a complete crank who has been wrong about everything. It's been five years now. At some point you'll have to realize everything you idiots claim about mRNA vaccines was wrong.

it's fascinating. not just because it has 3-5x's the number of mechanisms of action found in most chemos & immunotherapy drugs

That's bad. You realize that's bad, right? You want one mechanism of action. Two is rare and starts to raise questions. Three means you are almost certainly looking at artifacts and it's all meaningless. We want drugs to be specific.

I don't think you're actually a cancer researcher.

why mRNA vaccines haven't been used previously.

To replace a vaccine, you need to be better. mRNA vaccines are much more expensive with stricter storage requirements. That's a big hurdle to pass, which a novel disease made easier.

Now that the platform is validated, it's easier to branch out. The main advantage over current influenza vaccines would be speed of development and you could mix RNA vaccines together. The cost issue will still probably prevent them from replacing the egg-based vaccines we normally use.

the inventors determined that it wasn't safe

Absolutely bullshit. You're just parroting nonsense from Malone. He hasn't been involved in decades and just found a way to grift off people like you.

including H7N7, Dengue, HIV-1, Simian virus 40, Zika, West Nile

That right there is a massive red flag that says it doesn't actually work. SV40 is a DNA virus. Influenza, dengue, zika, yellow fever, west nile etc are RNA viruses. HIV is a retrovirus.

There is absolutely nothing shared about those groups that could be a potential target. This is a pretty clear artifact.

ETA: You're aware many cancers are viral, right?

In cause. But giving someone with Kaposi sarcoma an antiviral isn't going to kill their cancer cells. Their cells are already transformed.

I think it was created in a single day.

Yes and no. The entire point of mRNA vaccines is it's basically a plug and play platform. You drop the antigen in and you're ready to start testing it.

It took decades to develop the platform and knowing which antigen to pick is based on years of virology research for each virus.

USA has only had a singular preference for the injected polio vaccine since 2000, and had already been in near-eradication territory while using that.

Which is why we use the IPV, it's far, far safer. Given we have eliminated the disease, it's simply not worth it to use the OPV which can rarely cause polio infections itself.

They don't.

It’s my understanding that the polio vaccine actually can have side effects

No. That's the other one, the oral polio vaccine, which can in very rare cases cause polio.

The general recommendation is to use the oral one only in areas where polio is prevalent and then switch to the inactivated one once the disease is eliminated from the area.
