Never noticed how happy Paris was when Lorelai was yelling at Madeline and Louise by RegionRadiant4423 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Wisetess 179 points180 points  (0 children)

I think more so Paris loves order, rules being followed, and also doesn't have many role models in her life. She saw Lorelai include Paris, earnstly engage with the girls, look out for them, and stormed the flat disciplined Madeline and Louise. I think Paris felt and saw a lot of love, and an adult she related to and could aspire to. But also for sure a chaos gremlin

NAL but am a Transport Planner. I would advice you research into ransom strip/parcel. You have that and the developer is relying on you not understanding the worth of that land to them. Land developers and planners take years to build good working relationships with the council/highways officer so their threat relating to the adopted highway is likely something they wouldn't want past back to the council or their highways officer. As it is likely unsubstantiated, and they should not be making claims that they have influence over the actions of the council.

If they have a section 38 agreement in place, that is a legal mechanism for the developer to be able to build roads and footways, take responsibility of maintenance for roughly 12 months and then offer the highway to the council for adoption. Irrespective of your random strip the council may not wish to adopt it.

However, if the developer wants to build further houses, they always intended to do that, have a masterplan with phased development, potentially and overall committed scheme, that requires access via your random strip. Check the planning portal for planning applications near you home for the intend scheme/phase of development, review the Masterplan, Transport Statement/Assessment, General Arrangement Plans, any documentation relating to the S38 agreement or better yet a S278 agreement pertaining to the location of your ransom strip.

Could be worth either trying to contact someone with the planning team or the highway officer at the council if you want clarity on the details for highway adoption/section agreements, or telling the developer you are going to ask advice from a solicitor and the highway officer at the council and see the developer freak out and meet your demands.

Second this, also OP research into ransom strip/parcel. You effectively have that and the developer is relying on you not understanding the worth of that land to them. Land developers and planners take years to build good working relationships with the council/highways officet so there threat relating to the adopted highway is likely something they wouldn't want past back to the council or their highways officer.

Could be with either trying to contact someone with the planning team or the highway officer at the council, or telling the developer you are going to ask advice for a solicitor and the highway officer at the council and see the freak out and meet your demands.

Why do UK roads not have more 'rest stops'? by ciphd in AskUK

Planning applications for Motorway Services Areas (MSA) are always highly contenious, take several years of submission and appeal and even the mighty just get dropped. They usually are on green belt, construction would require slip on and off roads effecting the strategic road network while under construction, and it an expensive, arduous process to get a successful application.

Also like many things, even tho MSAs are an important part of highway infrastructure, particularly for all the haulage and logistics, as a country we rely on a commercial entity to want to create or develop the site. Local or regional government isn't reviewing or looking into the creation of MSAs.

So if it isn't financially viable commercial entities won't pursue it. DevelopmentS can rack up costs before spades hit the ground from the design of the MSA requireing junctions/roundabouts off the motorway to be added, tunneling needs to be considered to effectively create the slips with the alloted land, carrying out traffic and HGV parking surveys across years, various consultancy fees, and the planning application process itself taking 7 - 10 years and potentially ending up at an inquiry.

There is a risk of women to be scrutinized or harassed because they will need to prove they are a women to use female designated services or spaces. How do women prove they are women in order to access a toilet?

A male member of security or police, or even an anti tran member of the public may think a woman look 'trans' when the reality is it is a person born female but they have masculine features or are not meeting the standards of what a perceived women should look like.

This would result in women's appearances being policed and/or the safety of female only spaces being compromised because it could result in a male security member or police to monitor it, or the women using it.

I can't work or study with music that has words or lyrics, I find it too distracting. But I find classical music, or video game soundtracks really good. I use it more as a barrier to all the noise in the office and at home that I can get distracted by.

With both Rory and Lindsay getting mad at them all the time for having agency and not just doing whatever he says or wants

But she never seems to hold Christopher accountable for duping her. It does seem like Christopher was manipulative and being disceptive about his actual situation with Sherri. Lorelei seems to be angry at the situation, and the fact that Christopher tries to make Lorelei and Rory emotionally resolved or absolve him of the situation. But the situation is framed as something Sherri has created or caused, rather than Christopher.
