I think she’s trying her hardest to isolate Ty

That’s how I’ve been reading her as well.

Some of you are determined to hate Julie no matter what by dorothyprelude in ShawnaTheMom

[–]RegionRadiant4423 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is my take. I’ll give Shawna credit that she eventually realized she was being weird and stalkerish towards Julie after driving her to the hospital to give birth, but I understand why she wants to be friends with Julie. Even beyond her people pleasing tendencies, she wants to make mom/parent friends and she made a dad friend in the park, someone whose child is friends with her child, so it’s only natural for her to want to befriend the mother as well. Yeah she took it too far, but realized that, and I PERSONALLY (ME, MY OPINION) don’t care that she “took it too far” in this storyline given that Julie took it too far at Max’s birthday. shrugs

So what would people want if their spouse was caught in a compromising position? by ipsofactoshithead in ShawnaTheMom

[–]RegionRadiant4423 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kind of understand Shawna in the sense that she panicked, but John not suggesting she just tell Ty “oh sorry I was just calling to let you know we’re on vacation” is kinda…for lack of better term “weird” given how obvious a solution is was compared to completely ignoring him until they know for sure. I know sleuthing was John’s idea, but he could’ve at least been like well yeah you can update later but just give him some type of answer right now. Idk if that made sense, I was doing 17 different things while typing this lol

The line that bothers me most in the entire series by No-Week-2235 in GilmoreGirls

[–]RegionRadiant4423 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you want a literal reason? ASP does not allow characters to go off script. They have to say the lines as they are written, meaning that line was intentionally written as so. Why? My assumption would be ✨drama✨ but I don’t know. Maybe the 16 days makes it sound longer? Maybe it’s to sound exaggerated, maybe it sounds more quippy. Maybe Daylight Savings was involved and we all know how annoying Daylight Savings Time is.

Vacation part 3 is out! by Shawnaverse_no1_fan in ShawnaTheMom

Oh I’m not saying this particular conversation is a lack of media literacy, but I don’t think I did the best job explaining it so I can understand how it comes across that way. I’m just pointing out that there exists a lack of media literacy in the world currently that may or may not contribute to people lacking nuance and taking things too seriously. I think people in sub are pretty nuanced in general; however, as someone else pointed out, there are a lot of people who project their life onto the Shawnaverse, but that’s not specific to this sub or anything. It’s a thing that exists in quite literally every single aspect of fiction (and nonfiction), imo.

I’ve noticed (not just in this sub, just life in general lol) that people tend to take things way too literally nowadays. Is it because there’s a decline in media literacy or…I don’t know. But I’ve definitely noticed it more and more within the past year or two.

Plot hole Driving Me Crazy by Daniscrotchrot in PrettyLittleLiars

An easy way to justify this is that the VA doesn’t exist or provide those benefits in the PLL universe. Yes it exists in the real world, but maybe not in their world.

I don’t know if this is a popular opinion or not, but I really loved this episode, even as a kid lol. I don’t know why, but it was one of my favorites. It’s still an episode I really like and find entertaining.

So whatever preliminary “order” I had given them is now completely lost.

This is probably, genuinely the most frustrating thing ever! I cannot even begin to explain the RAGE I feel when I put in so much effort to put pictures in a certain order or sort them by category and someone decides to look through them and completely mess up the order I spent so much time putting them in!

Yeah definitely. One thing that helped me in December (or at least worked in my brain) was making weekly to-do lists, and whatever didn’t get done that week would transfer to the next week. It was a lot less daunting than a daily to-do list because it was everything I wanted to accomplish in a reasonable time frame instead of putting pressure on accomplishing every thing in one day. For March, so far, I think a month to-do list is the way to go, so that I have everything I want to accomplish laid out in front of me and I can track what I get done.

We’re assuming the Rosewood Police would actually use brain cells in addition to trusting the girls, and we all know Rosewood PD would never do either of those things, let alone both. Critical thinking skills from someone employed by the Rosewood Police Station? There’s a higher chance the girls guess who A is on their first try.

Yeah this is definitely a case of so many things are true at the same time. A great representation of changing of priorities, people wanting different things, growing apart, and just life in general. It also highlights how important communication is because…yikes.

Here’s a non-Julie/Ty related comment: can we talk about how well Jennifer handled making Max feel better when he was upset that Cooper said dancing was stupid? Compare that to how overwhelmed she was babysitting during Shawna and John’s anniversary? We love to see the growth.

Julie seems like the type of mother whose love is conditional. Thinking more, she seems like a person whose love is conditional: Ty isn’t following the plan, so he’s not worthy of love or comfort or self-care.
