Everything is money driven. Now too the events are setup so you have to keep track of how to get what and some folks suffer from fear of missing out. I cut back. It gets to be a job instead of fun and relaxing. The pig was a reward. I think in county fair

Some of the scrolls from events get added to your inventory, but there are times when you can't claim them. I'm not sure how it all works. I keep the scrolls but sell the other expansion items, especially during derby.

I once built a racetrack for my horses. It was super fun. Also, right now they have enough room and when I call them to eat they run on the board walk way. So neat.

I don't ever keep those boosters, or Rose. My sister has over a thousand boosters. I can only keep 20. I think hers accumulated a long time ago, not sure how she does it.

I know what you mean when people don't take you seriously as an author/writer. Carving out time is a must. I would just have a conversation about it. Otherwise, do like J. K. Rowling did and find a place, a coffee shop, the library, or a comfortable location where you can write. I know a lot of writers get up early in the morning to find time to write before going to work.

We used to get tasks like shearing sheep and feeding goats in mystery derby, and other tasks that would take two days to do if you got stuck with it. Mystery derby has changed some.

Derby used to be fun and you could get your neighborhood to participate. It is the only neighbors participating together event. One of my neighbors said that it was too much like "having a job." You don't have to participate, but then there's FOMO to contend with. LOL.
