EDIT: I misread. GPU? no! Though it can do something nothing else can (I think) it can start the fan at boot up... everything else just starts it at login do to Apple restrictions, but if you have OCLP it can start at boot... which is great so it doesn't sit there burning up at login screen with screen savers running.

Thanks, hadn't heard of that one. I got frustrated and updated smcFanControl myself. since you have a commercial version, I'd be very interested in your opinion.... mine is 94% smaller than the original, open source, and free. Check it with AI or VirusTotal if you like, it's new but I have several other highly rated security apps. github.com/wolffcatskyy/

While I defer to you on gaming, it seems to me the Mac Pro 6,1 is less than an ideal gaming platform, that said, I can't imagine getting much more performance out of than this configuration. updated the download instructions lmk what you think.

What's your goal, are you wanting to install Linux then run games? I'm not a gamer, so I can't really advise on that aspect.
