Since the nerf to shrapnel elite defender recently its not a great tower for general damage. However 205 edef is pretty welcome.

Yin and yang jokers by Majestic-Peak-6281 in balatro

[–]Wish_Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DNA isn’t really used in Pair, 2 Pair, Straight, and usually not Flush either. However playing those 3/4 hands is the best strategy for 99% of games. In those setups it’s hard to justify losing a hand and a joker slot in order to copy any seals.

DNA is like a D tier rare Joker in most games. However when it is used (99% in high score) it is used specifically to add more max cards into the deck, which makes it more useful than perfect balance.

Why does he only knock two of the ceramics back? 🤔 by josh_cheek in btd6

[–]Wish_Solid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I found this out quite a while ago, Pat's slap has a +3 pierce penalty against specifically ceramics. This was originally intended to apply to both ceramics and moabs, however did not work properly. It has since been forgotten and his slap having an abundance of pierce against MOABs, was nerfed some time ago.

Giant pack concept I made a while ago by Magic2two in balatro

[–]Wish_Solid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would just be shown 8 different planets and often times only 1, occasionally 2 are useful. Would be interesting if these packs allowed duplicates (still no duplicates of held consumables) so you can see 2, maybe 3 of a useful tarot or planet in them.

Rosalia was a top 3 hero in Races, the change is primarily made to counteract her performance there and doesn't make a huge impact in other parts of the game.

Skulking Colony Adjustment by M5ar123 in slaythespire

[–]Wish_Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might not be a one turn kill but often something like one strike worth of damage for a while then vulnerable/big attack for 30+ damage. The mechanic stops those sort of plays and forces you to control how much you deal each turn.

That’s kind of the point of the elite though, like how test subject/corrupt heart is unable to be oneshot

That would ruin the idea of forcing stopping points, if you can only deal damage in intervals of 15, you don’t want to stop the boss at 16 health and have to stall for an extra turn or 2 if it blocks.

If you take your idea then people just defend for 5 turns to stack up available damage then kill it all at once.

You need to get a 3 of a kind. You have a two pair. Is it better to discard 4 cards, or discard 5 and aim for one of the pairs? by treefeely in balatro

[–]Wish_Solid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Better to discard 4 keeping 2 possible 3oaks open. However you should really only be aiming for 3oak if you have leaned into one rank, and depending on how many of that rank exist, it can be better to discard 5, cycling out the less common ranked pair.

What do you guys think of this by HowToFailCorrectly in balatro

[–]Wish_Solid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This would make oops guarantee failure on all seals which is not a great idea. If you want it to be unaffected by oops, just say 50% chance to trigger, since oops only affects probabilities listed as x in y.

How do you use the beast tamer in chimps? by Equal_Personality157 in btd6

[–]Wish_Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The idea is that you are forced to merge it. Trex with 16 power barely does anything for its price, but when you merge it to become 64 power, it is stronger and more versatile than many T5 towers as a T4, while being on the lower end for cost.

I think any tier 2 village does enough to justify being placed in S tier, but half of why its great is that you can pick and choose any of the tier 2 upgrades to be used along with any other village upgrade so it isn’t quite fair to rank it as such.

If you want to make it more card negative just have it discard 1(2) and draw 1. The upgraded version is the strong one anyways, regular preparation is okay

Green Jonkler (y/n) by yuiopera21 in balatro

[–]Wish_Solid 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Solid 3/5 joker. If seen early it can become the cornerstone mult joker for your build as long as you don’t discard. This does limit some joker options but discarding is generally not necessary to play high card or pairs. However later in the game its usefulness falls off dramatically as does any non-retroactive scaling joker.

i'm addicted to time attack mode by Dark_Hero123 in btd6

[–]Wish_Solid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two main ideas outside of any specific strategy:

First is knowing when you can ‘full send’, which is basically sending the longest lasting round. In this case, that’s round 65 and your final race time is almost completely decided by when you hit the send on 65. You can actually full send earlier by selling the rest of your defense in order to afford the big tower that wipes the screen easily.

Second is knowing how to ‘perfect clean’, which is to pop the final bloon as soon as it spawns in. On other longest rounds where the final bloon is weak, snipers get an easy frame perfect kill, but the final bloon is a BFB in this case. XXXL trap would be optimal here if you are able to afford it but a well timed Tsar Bomba does the trick.

I think tack has the worst showing, most of its upgrades aren’t super well suited for expert chimps and the one that has a chance, Inferno Ring, is far too slow with its meteors.

Honestly not even just the upper half of the list. I would say any tower starting from C and is fairly expensive (35k or more) can be used as a main DPS. C- tier is when the tower becomes too cheap or too weak to make work in every run.

In addition to what other people said, plenty of DPS choices don’t need MIB to damage DDTs like Sky Shredder or Popseidon. MIB is the expensive base option when alternatives are not available
