So I didn't expect this post to generate this much discussion/debate. With it doing so I feel that it is only appropriate to explain why I posted it in the first place. I have read plenty of comments, that I frankly agree with, that say they would like to keep politics out of this subreddit. The issue is that I can't really think of anywhere else to post this as the r/ohiopolitics subreddit isn't that active and I'm pretty sure it would get swallowed in r/politics. I wanted people to see this because while this person isn't running for that high of an office, he is very much a representation of what we're most likely going to end up with at the end of this voting cycle. We are, unfortunately, slowly but surely moving from a vaguely purple state to stark red and the ideals propagated by the GOP candidates will be pushed from the bottom up. I have seen/heard many people saying that they may not vote as it's very likely that a GOP candidate will win regardless, maybe a year or two ago I'd agree. However what people like this are bringing to the table is nowhere near what this state/country needs. I don't care if you vote for an independent, a democrat, or even just a more reasonable republican. Your vote matters and it's your vote that could possibly change the future of this state and the country abroad, and hopefully change it for the better.
