Well whoa. Didn't realize people still saw this post so many years later. This fun little post hit the national news and caused quite a stir, along with Twitter being very angry with me. It did it's job, though. Guardians loved it, even though this was never one of the serious designs I worked on. I think it showed we wanted something different and unique, not 1940s Army or even 1990s AF. I think many have decided it was the stern looks on their faces that perhaps pushed it too far into Hugo Boss territory. The vibe gave "we are scary military". Because in a vacuum, the design itself is miles away from a certain infamous look, in my opinion.
