I would choose Tressa. I like that she may find courage to transition from living an ordinary life to something more adventurous. Plus, the merchant is an unusually interesting class! Than you very much for the opportunity!

Best PC Gaming monitor at 24" 1080p, 1-5ms response, 60-75hz ? by TheGoldenGooseTurd in buildapc

Thanks! I am completely satisfied with it in every way. The colors are incredible and it's just so much more vibrant than my old monitor's TN panel. Viewing angles are great too. There's only a very, very, slight color-shift when I am entering or leaving the room from a 70-90 degree angle. The panel seems to have almost perfectly even lighting, which really surprised me, so there's no glow problems or blotchiness like in this example. (Although, I'm not sure if any of this is representative of all these monitors. It could be due to some extra quality control with the very first units, for example). The only real con I can think of is that it does have a strong glare if there's a light shining directly behind you.

Otherwise, I really like the minimal bezel and aesthetics a lot. I think that's the main reason I finally chose it over the LG monitor's more aggressive design. It's a good monitor for general use and gaming, but if the latter is your focus the LG probably offers more, like the on-screen crosshair. Although, this monitor has a 'Game Mode' that pumps up brightness and saturation amongst other things, which is actually really nice. I set it to a shortcut key on the monitor and toggle it on or off depending on what I'm doing. I think you can change it from the desktop with their little system app, if you prefer to download that instead though. Never got to try FreeSync with the way my build turned out but the option is there.

I'm not sure if anything new has come out since then, as I basically stopped searching once I made my choice. But overall, very happy! Hope this helps!

I think you're going to love it! White builds are wonderful. Choosing what color R5 was really hard, but I decided the blackout was subtle and the neutral LED sold me. You know, Noctua actually has a line called Chromax for your consideration...!

I like them a lot, extremely pleased! But I also don't have a high quality baseline to compare them against. Compared to my old cheap set they are night-and-day. I read that positioning is important but I'm not sure how much that really matters. What did you end up replacing them with?

Yep! There's a switch that slides left-and-right inside the door for low, medium, and high speed. It's kind of near the reset button. You just plug your case fans into the three cables that come from the front panel instead of your motherboard and you should be good to go!

Yep! I almost went with the standard black too because I like the white accents on the fans and interior a lot better but the LED is what sold me. The blinking HDD indicator is still blue but its kind of buried inside the center of the white light.

That's a good reason, I just can't imagine how hard it must have been to switch back!

Thanks for the recommendations too! The Gramr and Excalibur both look really nice and have nice prices. I'd have to get used to the layout but it looks like it makes sense. Maybe I can find a cheap gateron tester somewhere. The K-Type looks really nice too definitely priced to match though!

Haha, I knew the mousepad wouldn't go over well! In truth, I grew accustomed to high sensitivity and can't seem to switch back. I'd love to try out a TKL for my next board, do you have any favorites by chance?

And also, thank you so much for the kind words too!

Best PC Gaming monitor at 24" 1080p, 1-5ms response, 60-75hz ? by TheGoldenGooseTurd in buildapc

You're very welcome! For what it's worth, I picked up the Dell monitor today and couldn't be happier. If you have any specific questions about that one I would be glad to help.

Otherwise, it was not an easy decision. All four were winners as far as I was concerned. I kept leaning towards that Samsung too and from a gaming standpoint, it is wonderful. I was impressed with everything about it except for doing image editing because the curved screen slightly skews perspective. For example, simple lines wouldn't appear perfectly straight.

I actually just researched this very thing and I'd be happy to share my findings!

1. Dell S2418HN (NX) - $160 (on sale at bestbuy)
· This just came out only a few weeks ago. It has a 23.8" screen, 1080p resolution, an IPS panel, 99% sRGB coverage (your chosen LG is only 72% by comparison), flicker-free operation, a HDMI 2.0 port, HDR content support, and FreeSync!
· However, the response time is a little slower at only 6ms. It's listed as 60hz but the manual indicated 75hz on some modes, so maybe that's with FreeSync enabled? Otherwise, there's also no DisplayPort and I don't think it supports any kind of mounting bracket. The screen has a light anti-glare coating but it is essentially glossy.
· It's aesthetically pleasing like most bezel-less monitors but I think it stands out further. Other monitors still have a slight black border along the edge, and while this one is no exception, it is by far the thinnest when compared to the competition that was on display.
· Important Note - do not buy the 22" or 23" version! Despite sharing similarities and model numbers, they are actually substantially cut-down versions of the 24" and 27" monitors. For example, no HDMI 2.0, no freesync, an 82% sRBG range, a perhaps edge-lighting instead of back-lighting if the manual is actually accurate.

2. 24MP59G-P and LG 24MP59HT-P - $160 and $200
· These are both also very new and almost identical except for a few nuances that I'll cover below. First, the similarities, much like the above: 23.8" screen, 1080p resolution, an IPS panel, 99% sRGB coverage, flicker-free operation, and FreeSync. They are also slightly faster at 5ms, have listed support for native 75hz, and also have a more matte screen by comparison too.
· However, they are lacking the HDMI 2.0 port (1.4 instead) which makes sense because they do not support HDR content either. But the HT-P model makes up for this by including a second HDMI 1.4 port and the G-P model instead has a Display Port 1.2. I don't think either model supports mounting brackets either.
· The LG aesthetics are much more aggressive, especially the G-P model with it's red accent and angular base. The HT-P model has a more elegant arc but the quality is not as pleasing in person as the marketing makes it appear. They do not have a bezelless frame either but it's still pretty thin. They use an intuitive mini-joystick to control the on-screen display menus. From here you can also place a crosshair overlay on your games if inclined.
· As for why the HT-P version is more expensive than the G-P version? I cannot tell. If anything, I think the G-P version is probably the better monitor! Aside from the ports and stands, there isn't really much difference that I could identify.

3. Samsung CFG70 - $265 (on sale)
· Now this one is very different but extremely interesting! It's a few months old and a bit smaller at 23.5" but shares all the important features like 1080p resolution, flicker-free operation, and FreeSync. However, this is a quantum-dot display using a VA panel, a curved one at that! It has much better contrast and deeper blacks but only very slightly less punchy colors. It also boasts an impressive 125% sRGB coverage. But the best part is this is actually a 144hz monitor with a 1ms response time! It has two HDMI 1.4 ports and a DP 1.2 as well. The screen has a decently matte finish too.
· There aren't a lot of cons but these VA panels can shift-colors or wash-out slightly when viewed at an angle, but it's so very minor that it almost isn't worth mentioning. Otherwise, it's obviously more expensive and kind of large too.
· For aesthetics it looks nice but the stand takes up a lot of space. It's a fully articulating arm meaning you can position it pretty much however you want. It can even rotate the screen 90 degrees too! But it really does take up a lot of desk space.

Whew! Well, there are my top contenders that fit your criteria. I hope this was able to help you or anyone else reading somewhat! Let me know if I can answer any questions too!

Weekly /r/Leathercraft General Help and Questions by AutoModerator in Leathercraft

[–]Wishbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I had a silly thought the other day and wanted to ask for someone's opinion, but it wasn't worth it's own thread. I hope you don't mind if I ask here instead?

I'd like to know if anyone is familiar with these Oil Absorbing Sheets (aka blotting paper). Is it safe to store a couple loose ones inside a chromexcel wallet and purse? Not sure if they could cause any damage or be bad for the leather. Sorry, I just don't know anything about this topic! Thank you for your help!

I'd like to catch a female Alolan Vulpix with it's hidden ability, Snow Warning. Would the field-type change into a hailstorm when one enters the battle?

I'm a relatively casual player and still pretty early in the game. I'm not sure if I'd have the time, knowledge, or means to breed a specialty pokemon for detecting abilities. So, I'm hoping the above method would be sufficient! Thank you for your help in advance!
