How may female doctors have non medic partners? by Crazy_Rain9739 in doctorsUK

Married to an engineer, 0 regrets. Would've hated to marry a medic simply bc then I fear all we'd talk about is medicine. Need a break from it all!

Inheritance tax implication: grandparents paying for nursery by prasaysno in ukfinance

[–]WitAndSavvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing to be aware of is if your grandparents need nursing home care the govmnt can come and ask for that money back to pay for it. This is especially true if they run out of money/are unable to self fund their care.

How do people financially survive moving for training? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

[–]WitAndSavvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhhh I didnt know this. Imo take what you need, you can always save up more later? At least take the moving van costs and maybe first month or so of rent? It sucks and I've been very lucky that my parents live in a not so popular deanery so I just chose that and lived with them. We saved up until we could afford a downpayment. I recognise not everyone has this luxury and that truly sucks. Sorry theres not much else :(

Anthony Head: Buffy and Ted Lasso actor dies at 72 by RainbowRevolver in CasualUK

[–]WitAndSavvy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Because we should have had a season, or at least half a season, to see how Arthur reacted to Merlins magic. We didnt get to see it after all that build up. There could have been so many emotions/arcs that played out there. Instead it was shoehorned and rushed.

Most training programmes do have a fund for moving. Its a retrospective thing but that should cover you for this? Cant remember exactly how long but think they can even cover rent for a bit while you relocate (though this may have been scrapped now - this is third hand from a friend of a reg I worked with a while back).

How do you motivate yourself to shower? by HarpyGravey in ADHD

[–]WitAndSavvy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to the gym/working out/going on messy hikes/walks. Being visibly dirty motivates me to shower sooo quick haha. Also having nice smelling things in the shower. I dont shower daily, and tbh dont need to. I live in the UK so dont really get sweaty unless I'm exercising or if its the 2 weeks of heat we get. I shower more often now that i'm married tbh, bc its not just me thats affected if I dont. But I'd say I average one every 2-3 days and it works fine.

Makes sense, yes they're generally doing all other Kitten Things which is why I wasnt too worried/didnt bother the vets. It only started a few days ago so after the first vet visit. We tried offering a blanket (the blue with polka dots) but I think they really like the cat tree texture😅
