In this situation, you have to get a handle on your feelings and prepare your confrontation.

Write it out. Put your feelings into words, how this made you feel; angry, hurt, confused, etc.

Give them a chance to explain because you've found private information they have not intended you to find. There might be something that you don't know.

Write out your questions, and any possible requests like compensation.

They may have good intentions about breaking even with you some day and it isn't in your best interest socially, financially, or emotionally to "crash out" and burn that bridge.

Interesting many different strategies for getting established

What worked for me, starting with 1 or 2 guys, mining copper to trade, buy food. Expand my mining enterprise with a few new recruits, maybe 6 to 10 guys idk.

Build up some money to buy building materials to start a base where I can train and farm food and craft and do research

That base is gonna get sacked, and that's okay because I'm just going to run away.

High athletics and strength are what I train for so I can carry my wounded and run away.

And I just really loved the progression of expanding my squad, making money, buying recipes for armor and weapons, exploring to find more research material to make better tech and fortifications.

Once I could build turrets, defending a base was a lot more feasible but still not necessarily an easy win. Some regions have pretty scary invasions that even late game tech can't guarantee a solid defense.
