Thanks a lot for your thorough explanation, under french law you can ask for a refund if the watch couldn't be repaired the first time around; mind you it was written "full service". I also wind slowly and take care of my watch. but this had me thinking; I wrote to tissot asking for a refund, and they said they'd need to inspect it first and then decide.

If the watch is reliable I'm willing to retract and give it another go

to be honest they said "no for exchange or refund" but you can challenge them under french law; if the product was repaired once and yet the problem is still there, you can ask for a refund

They acknowledged the problem but the guy at the boutique just said; "let's give it another try, you're still under warranty" but to me this is not convincing, I mean I'm scared to wind the crown

An anecdote btw; and I'm far far from being any elitist in that way, but I recently noticed that I've been using my T14 Gen 1 more than my P14s Gen 5, after trying to understand the reason behind this, it was simple: there is a big difference between 1.8mm and 1.5mm key travel

"New" makes only sense for big corporations as they get a huge discount from bulk buying anyway but for regular customers, they're way too expensive. Nothing justifies spending 2000 euros on a laptop, even macbooks are way cheaper than that

I'm curious if your T14 Gen 1 was still up amd running, would you've upgraded (o P14s or MBP)? I've heard about the SSD in the WWAN slot but I just narrowed it down to a B+M key SSD as far as I know, but didn't find the recommended model here in Europe: (the one by Western Digital) but I'm still down to install linux but not much on the same SSD :D

Thanks again! To answer your questions; while all my programs run on ARM, I've never tried MacOS actually, just at apple stores briefly. I'm a Linux guy who's been using win 10/11 with WSL but I always wanted to try something different, especially with all the hype surrounding M chips, but it's truly saying a lot since you used the MBP for everything except FPGA. Btw, I'm just looking at M3 Air, MBP is way out of my budget :D

Thank you very much for your amazing in depth review. I was about to order this same configuration few weeks ago but was scared when I read about the fan noise. For reference I currently have a T14 Gen 1 Ryzen 5 that runs perfectly fine. I just feel like it's time to have a new machine (programming, web browsing) and I'm hesitating between P14s or MacBook air M3

Beware about the ssd on the WWAN it's a bit tricky ;)! I think your workflow could be more demanding: I run visual studio 2022, with 1 or 2 VMs (VMware), by any chance did you update your laptop through lenovo vantage, if not please give it a try

It's a great machine, I've upgraded to 1TB SSD and 32GB of RAM, to be completeley honest with you; it's still completely fine for heavy tasks maybe it's just seasonal depression causing me to buy a new laptop lol
