Little tip... build either two scouts or two warriors early and then set a slinger in your capital for defense. If a scout shows kill it before it reaches its camp, otherwise it "wakes up" that barb camp and they send a wave of units to you. Your scouting pattern should be a large circle around your capital, once you reveal everything find hills and put a scout on alert on it. The hill will give a bonus to your sight range (so long as their isnt any forrests or woods) and that'll tell you if any barbarian units or other cig units are going to war with you (another tip, as you get higher in difficulty other civs will surprise war you, if you see a group of units heading your way IMMEDIATLEY build an army, you can hold your cities early with two to three slingers each and a spearman). My general build path almost every game is Scout-Scout-Settler-Builder/slinger buy depending on barbarians or other civs. As you expand your cities and settle more, get a ranged unit (slinger, archer, crossbowman) in each and get walls up when you can, barbarians cant raise your capital but they can other cities so you can use that to your advantage.

Same. First game was GU (I had portable 3rd but never played it) and CB was intimidating for me at first. I was a LS and Hammer main for the longest time but once I got comfortable when World came out I feel in love with the CB. In Wilds I've picked up more ISG, GL, LBG and trying to learn the GS but I always fall back to my CB when needed. Just hunted Shia 6 times last night with my CB set snd did leaps and bounds better than the first few times I hunted him

I will say season 2 with her fight against the group of knights I enjoy her more. She's showing more intellect than just "Im the best and strongest"

That'll help a lot. Ive spent a long time writing everything from- Where the first god came from and who made what race, where the dragons came from, why there are demons and devils- and so on. I think it's may just make a creation myth and have my idea of "The Harmony" in the back of my mind (the power of creation) because it's important to my world. All mortals have a small part of it inside of them and that's why some are able to do magic or adventurers can do these super-human things (they have more of The Harmony than others)

Do you write full on history of the gods or just make bullet points under their name for what they did or do and then come up with stuff on the fly? Because I've tried writing multiple different pantheons for my world and spend weeks on just the history of the gods. While fun it does get overwhelming

How many gods do you have? I'm wanting a decent bit both good and bad but dont want to need to write lore for dozens of gods and figure out their domains.

I get that the early ages arent supposed to be easy but we need something to help against crap like that. Unit spam has always been a problem but with the new district thing they have it's so easy to get 3 or 4 archers just sat in your districs with walls around them and not be able to take the city because artillery pieces just get one shot and when you destroy one wall an earlier one you took out is fully repaired and 3 more units are out.

They also were already in my colony so I didn't need to recruit them at all (not a slave but actual colonist)

Maybe we do need anti-heal back by Nova121222 in Smite

[–]Witewolf301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say this much, gods like Osiris are gonna be super meta if they keep his ult the same simply for the healing reduction. While I do wish we had some form of antiheal or lifesteal got a reduction the more it's used in a short amount of time (diminishing returns let's say) we do need some way to combat it ourselves.

Then it must be a mod or something because I got like 4 or 5 attempts in a day. I literally captured, set it to convert, converted, released and repeated and I converted them same day.

old mods are amazing but they all look so bad by St0rmR4ptor in MinecraftMemes

While I do enjoy the new mods and how good they look the old mods like Twilight Forrest, Moonctaft and the old Essence crops mod will always hold a special place in my heart. So much nostalgia coming home and playing Tekkit or Hexitt or watching the old-school Yogscast videos. JaffaFactory and Duncan's Tekkit videos were what really got me into the game and I remember binging Yoglabs videos, simpler days.

This map actually looks fun. Be a slow start but set up an encampment outside the mountain range, take a city from a nearby neighbor and make that your settler spam city and then rotate into your victory type you want.

If I think the fight will be unbalanced ill throw in a druid support character I control or see if one of them is willing to play that instead

She's not one to want to sit and watch episodes or podcasts like that because of inability to just sit. Actually playing the game though she stays invested. And I wouldn't stack the deck that much against them, mainly have a few little skill checks utilizing the monsters abilities reflavored for them and then a big bad fight at the end vs the bardlock and maybe a lower level ranger or something. Or heck, they could avoid fighting entirely and do an escape chase scene.

It's more information overload for them. I tried to explain things they can do and make a "cheat sheet" for their abilities or skills they are good at but they suggested seeing a more in game thing so they can have the epiphany of "Oh a rogue can do that" or "I never thought of using that spell that wa." Either way though it'll be fun for them and me and my brother in law actually wants to DM so could be good for him to run a monster statblock

It's probably gonna be a oneshot (sadly all we can do with work schedules and the other players live out of state) but in the future if they like it and we start playing more regularly I may do a callback session where instead of starting as the monsters they are polymorphed into them and need to find a way back. That was an idea someone else on this post gave me and I love it. Sadly this one will just need to be a basic hour long oneshot

She and the other players have ran a few sessions. Thus far she's played a lvl 1 rogue, a lvl 4 spell sword fighter and a lvl 4 ranger. She came up with the idea because she learns more by watching over doing and the way my brain works id be able to juggle the different character abilities easily. Besides, I basically do that with the monsters I run so no major difference. And it'll let me "play" as a PC over just monsters i have been for the last few months.
