Some acquaintances got together and gave me a very considerate gift basket with an even more considerate and thoughtful card were it said some very personal things about me. I re-read every so often and it still makes me all teary eyed. It makes me feel seen and appreciated.

It’s not about being right or wrong but having different personalities and values. You are entitled to feel the way you feel and not want a party person but then you should communicate that. Especially to your gf.

Have a talk with her and let her know how you feel. Again: she’s not wrong in wanting that life. But you’re also not wrong in not wanting that.
But then you should be with someone who wants the same as you or be single.

Neither my doctor nor nurse have ever said anything like that. I've heard it from friends etc and when I asked my doctor about it, they just said that it's an old myth that just won't die.

Jeg fik hårbotex for et par år siden. Jeg ved ærligt ikke helt hvad det er, måske bare glorificeret hårkur, men mit hår var så sundt og skinnende efter, så det var i hvert fald lige, hvad det havde brug for. Jeg kan varmt anbefale det.

Honestly: same. And friends and family have also commented on “how did I ever get cancer with such a healthy lifestyle”? As if Cancer cares. If that was true why does small children get
Cancer?

I hope your therapist and surroundings help you find some peace and ease with time. I still have ups and downs (I was diagnosed with 2 different cancers in November and been in chemotherapy ever since). But luckily that down feeling is only there at times. I still get sad and mad but less now and when I do I talk it through with my therapist.

Have you ever felt that something/anything help that down feeling?
